5.0 out of 5 stars Spectacular Sequel
This book is the follow up to Evanick's book, Catch of the Day. It's just as good, of not better than the first book. After reading this one, you won't be able to wait for her next book to hit the shelves.
The characters were believable and very likeable. I found myself really rooting for Sydney. Richard is such a louse!

3.0 out of 5 stars A Cute and Fun Holiday Read
Christmas on Conrad Street is the second book in the Misty Harbor series. After reading the first book in the series, I was anxious to read about the twin vikings, Erik and Gunnar. In this book we get two romances for the price of one!

5.0 out of 5 stars very fun!, October 8, 2002

This review is from: Christmas on Conrad Street (Misty Harbor, 2) (Mass Market Paperback)
I had so much fun reading this book. All the characters are so endearing (except Richard.) Evanick writes with a simple, honest wit that I found so refreshing, I kept laughting out loud! I am a sucker for a great romance with a happy ending, this book surprised me with more than one. I didn't realize this is the second book she has written with some of the same characters, I am on my way to buy "Catch of the Day"!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very enjoyable romance, November 30, 2005
This review is from: Christmas on Conrad Street (Misty Harbor, 2) (Mass Market Paperback)
This is the first of the Misty Harbor books that I read. Since then I have read a few more. They all stand alone fine, but it's fun to see the characters of one book show up as backdrop in another.

It's a fun, Christmassy read. Evanick is good at creating likeable characters with chemistry between them. The storyline is not hokey and contrived, like a lot of romances. It isn't great literature or anything, but it's good for a person who just likes to read a love story.

3.0 out of 5 stars A Cute and Fun Holiday Read, November 15, 2010
This review is from: Christmas on Conrad Street (Misty Harbor, 2) (Mass Market Paperback)
Christmas on Conrad Street is the second book in the Misty Harbor series. After reading the first book in the series, I was anxious to read about the twin vikings, Erik and Gunnar. In this book we get two romances for the price of one!

I loved the story between Erik and Sydney. They were a perfect match for each other and I felt the chemistry between the two as soon as the met. Their romance was sweet and caring. I also loved how the author made sure to include the characters from the previous book and the characters from books to come in this series. The writing was fun and the scene setups were cute. I actually felt like I was in Misty Harbor for Christmas.

The only drawback I had with this book is the story of Gunnar and Maggie. I felt that their romance was forced and we didn't get to see their relationship blossom like we did with Erik and Sydney. I feel the author should have left their romance for another book in the series instead of trying to incorporate it into this one.

Overall a quick and cute Christmas read for the holiday season. Even though this is the second book in the series, the author does a wonderful job of letting the reader have this as a stand alone book. Everything, including the characters relationships, are explained without the over abundance of details.

5.0 out of 5 stars The way a good romance should be, August 22, 2010

This review is from: Christmas on Conrad Street (Misty Harbor, 2) (Mass Market Paperback)
I love this series, and this is my favorite one. This book involves Erik and Sydney and Gunnar and Maggie Pierce. Erik and Gunnar are Norweigen hunks. The relationship between the couple is heart warming and funny. Sydney, a pediatrician,(Gwen's sister) recently moves to Misty Harbor after find her partner in bed with someone else and finds the love of a good man. It makes you wish upon a star, and want to be in this story. The storyline also deals with the beginings of Alzheimer, and how the characters rally behind the man who is showing signs of the diesase. I love the simple sweet story and the kindness that the characters hold for each other. This is better than any TV show.

As a fan of Evanick's other stories, it's nice to visit the familiar town and people again. Her stories never disappoint.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Christmas read, December 20, 2008
This review is from: Christmas on Conrad Street (Misty Harbor, 2) (Mass Market Paperback)
I picked this up on the clearance rack at a used book store and it was a bargain. I have really enjoyed the book and - while not fantastic literature -- it was been a fun read.

Sydney finds herself in Maine after the ending of a long-term relationship that ended badly. She is moving on with her life when in-walks Erik, an immigrant from Norway who is wonderful to look at, kind, and cooks well, too. He manages to sweep her off her feet and we get to go along for the ride. I view this book is a cross between Nora Roberts and Debbie Macomber. The romantic portions are more explicit (along the lines of what N Roberts would write) but there is a sweetness and innocence to the characters along the lines of a D. Macomber novel. The references to the Norwegian culture and Chrismas customs added a lot to the book as well.

This will not be a book that I will remember for years to come and think back to it being life-altering, but for a light, fun Christmas read that has an uplifting story, it's perfect.
