Title should be Christmas Passion!,
This review is from: Christmas Diamonds (Kimani Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
This book was smokin' with passion. I lent it to a co-worker and she said she had to put it down several times, because she had to fan herself. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and I think you will too. I don't like to wait until page 100 to get the the juicy stuff. This book has the juice from beginning to end.

It was really difficult to finish this book. The characters just had absolutely no chemistry to me, and you would think with so many sex scenes the book would be really spicy, but all the sex scenes were really flat to me. This definitely had the potential to be a good read, by the author took a wrong turn somewhere. Definitely wouldn't recommend this one.

You never get a second chance to make a first impression. Luckily that does not hold true for Paula and Chase. After a not-so-friendly run in at a coffee shop, they both go their separate ways. But as fate would have it, their paths cross again. Chase, a jeweler looking to remodel his home, used the recommendation of his father to choose an interior designer. That designer happens to be...Paula! Both agree to let bygones be bygones and move forward. Is love in the air?
Kudos to Devon Vaughn Archer for a job well-done! The story is romantic and sweet. I love how he presents African-Americans in a positive light. His characters are intelligent, strong, and classy. I enjoyed "Christmas Diamonds" and would recommend to other lovers of romance. Reviewed by: Marcella

fabulous holiday romance,
This review is from: Christmas Diamonds (Kimani Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
Her mother dumped her as a child on her grandmother who raised her with love. However, though beautiful and intelligent interior designer Paula Devine has a résumé of losers so has given up on a romantic relationship like that of her grandma whose husband proposed on Christmas.
Diamond jeweler Chase McCord misses his wife Rochelle who died two years ago. He hires Paula to redecorate a room in his home. However, before they meet formally, they encounter one another over cappuccinos in a cafe in Silver Moon, Washington which she, tired of trite males, rips his skin for staring at her. After he takes her down a peg or two, they meet formally in his office. As she works the renovation, they are attracted to one another, but he has doubts due to his feelings of deserting Rochelle and one of her ex boyfriends seems to have her on a string. This is a fabulous holiday romance between a terrific female weary of the gender game and a wonderful somewhat fickle widower who is not afraid to exchange barbs. This pair makes a fine couple, but their respective pasts haunt them more than the ghosts visiting Scrooge. Readers will enjoy this fun tale as diamonds are a woman's second best friend after the love of their life. Harriet Klausner

This was a great love story between Paula Devine a interior decorator and jeweler Chase McCord. Paula has just ended a relationship that was going no where and Chase was a widower who is looking for that special woman to love once again. When they first meet, he does not know that she is the decorator recommended by his Dad and she is in a bad mood because of her previous failed relationship. She thinks he is trying to pick her up while they are both getting coffee and he sets her straight. When she arrives at his home for the initial appointment, she realizes he was the one at the coffee shop and they both decide to start over and not let that not so nice encounter spoil this consultation. He loves her ideas and begins to really like her. After a few dates they both decide to give their budding relationship a chance though both are still guarding their hearts. A man from her past decides that he wants her back and she tells them that it is over and was never meant to be but he decides to mess up her new relationship with Chase because he is jealous and wants her to suffer. When Sheldon (her past beau) shows up at a party with an employee of Chase, he tells Chase that Paula dates all her male clients and drops them as soon as she finds a new prospect. It plants the seeds of doubt in his mind and he tells Paula that they need to back off for a while. She is heartbroken but vows to move on if that is what he wants. In the end true love wins out and they realize that their love is the real thing. Great love story.

A Good Holiday Story,
This review is from: Christmas Diamonds (Kimani Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
Interior designer Paula Delany is fed up with men. If it weren't for bad luck, she would have no luck in the man department. So when sexy jeweler Chase McCord hires her to redecorate his great room, she has no intentions of starting a romance...regardless of how fine the brother is! Chase is also not sure he wants to start a relationship with the feisty interior designer. He can tell that she has been hurt and so has he. He is a widower and not sure how ready he is to start a new life with another woman. He quickly realizes that if he were ready, Paula would be the perfect one. After he gets her to redecorate a couple of rooms in his house, they discover that they have a chemistry that is explosive. But with Paula's past luck with men and Chase's uncertainty about being in another relationship, can these two get on the same page?
Christmas Diamonds is a great read. Devon Vaughn Archer has a writing style that flows which makes for an easy read. He does a good job of developing the main and secondary characters. The secondary characters give this story an added punch. Christmas Diamonds is a very good holiday read. Reviewed by Tenecia for Urban Reviews

I am sorry I did not like this book. There was no buildup to me. I mean they went from the initial meeting to her working for him and then having sex. What the heck? The author could have spent a little more time building up the story and a little chase as well. Some conflict and a little more drama. I know this is a romance novel but can we make it a little more believable.

Christmas Diamonds,
This review is from: Christmas Diamonds (Kimani Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
Christmas Diamonds is the perfect book to get you in the mood for Christmas.
You will meet Chase McCord a Jeweler who owns a chain of Diamond stores and Paula Devine and Interior Designer and believe me when I say that there first meeting was not the best. They first meet in a coffee shop sitting across from each other. As you will see that Paula is offend and think it rude to sit and stare. On her way out she confronts the gentlemen who happen to be Chase McCord and proceeded to tell Chase about his staring. Chase was surprise when she spoke to him it quickly brought him out of his trance. He gave his apologies to Paula and gave her this line that all men say. Of course that open up another can or worm because if you have heard one come on you have heard them all and that come on was not original.................. Chase quickly put Paula mind at easy when he told her his intent was not to come on to her and maybe she was a little to full of herself standing at the table. Chase father had hired an Interior Designer to redo his recreation room in his house and he recommend that Chase call her to redo some a room in his house. Chase has been married for 10 years when his wife died, and it had been two years since he had been serious about anybody, for Chase Rochelle (his wife) was the love of his life and he love her unconditional. Chase has dated since his wife but nothing serious he had not found that special someone who could make him feel alive. After the encounter in the coffee shop, Paula left going to her appointment little did she know that her next appointment was with the only Chase McCord? When she rang the door bell and was lead into a room and Chase McCord walk in they was both surprise to see each other again especially after what happen in the coffee shop. Chase & Paula decided to put there first meeting behind them and start fresh, she was hired to redo the family room and the more time they spent with each other they begin to see that they have something to build on. Paula has always wanted what her grandmother had with her grandfather a love that was so strong. The stories her grandmother would tell her about her grandfather how it was love at first sight for them and how he propose to her on Christmas. Paula had just ended a bad break because the relationship wasn't working so she was being a little caution about getting into another relationship, but the attraction between them was so strong and although they tried to fight the attraction it wasn't working. In the end love PREVAIL............................This is a wonderful and feel good book. You will not be disappointed in purchasing this book. Smooches Louise |
