This book is a must I say. I live down under and am a big Elvis fan. Although I have never been happy about the genre of ELvis books that have been coming out - I do quite enjoy the books authored by Jim Curtin. He has a knack for relaying his love for Elvis through his books, which in turn makes an Elvis fan, happy to read it!

I think that is important, as there are over 200 books already on the King - and most are BAD. Maybe it's me, or maybe I am just sick and tired of the dead beat so-called Elvis authorities, who have no connection, or history with Elvis, other than to make a quick buck. Jim is unlike those people. I think he would rather do something great, as this book is, and do it for the fans. I can tell he is an avid fan of Elvis, just through how he makes his books.

Did anyone ever notice that he does not include photos of Elvis where he looks ill? Or write about the bad habits, or drugs? Right there that lets me know that Jim is class and not in it for the almighty dollar.

Well about this particular book. simply said: this book is absolutely marvelous! A simple idea - yet never done until now. A collection of everything Xmas - everything Elvis. One of my all time favorites!

All these years after The King's passing, it's hard to find something new that offers something new.

Well, hot damn tamale! The pictures in this book are it. As a homegrown scholar of Presleyana, I can attest that many of them HAVE NEVER BEEN SEEN BEFORE and offer as much insight as Guralnik's books. In this case, the pictures tell a thousand words.

As for the text, well, it's another example of the barrel-scraping trivia that's flooded the market ("In 1974... during the energy crisis Elvis did not "light up" Graceland..."), but it has been edited expertly, and positioned unobtrusively enough as not to distract from the presleyriffic picture presentation.

All in all, the pubisher did a commendable job. It's not a highfalutin art book, but it ain't one of those cheapies, either.

This is a coffeetable book for the average American coffeetable. I will pull it out and dust it off every Christmas, to share with my rockin' friends-- if only to look at all the great photos.

As the King might sing:

I came across this book in a local used book shop.
For some reason this book was not sold outright in the main bookstores.

My first initial reaction to this book, once I flipped through it, was:
too bad: some of the printing is not high quality.
But hey, once I looked through the book and read some of the stories, my second reaction took over:
wow the contents are really nice!
as an Elvis fan, I loved the collectibles and as a result I bought another copy off the net.
one is for my library and the holidays and the other I use as a collectible guide.

This is a GOOD book (a real good one) and its done by someone I really didn't know anything about, nor had I heard of him.
But I did do a check on him, once I liked his book, and he did 6 other books on Elvis.
I will see if this man, who proclaims to be the world's foremost Elvis expert, is the real thing, or another self proclaimer like the "fantastic four" (Lichter, Dowling, Tunzi, Guralnick/Jorgensen)

A hint though: from what I see in this book, this man may actually be the REAL DEAL!
he has quality and intregrity.

Do you know what is funny? I just came out of the bookstore today, trying to see if I could get other Elvis books by Jim Curtin, and low and behold, my store had one copy left of this book!

Some of you may remember me from my other review on the Unknown Stories book, so I am back again with a review for this one.

No I did not sit inside the store this time reading this book, nor that Fact Odyssey book, I immediately bought them after work and drove home to read them.

I have to say I have only one other book of Jim's (UNSEEN ELVIS), and I thought that was the best book made to date, but this one is better. At first I thought it would be another fake Christmas book, as was that other one made by those fans, which was BAD. But Jim surprised me once again. This one is full of ELVIS ELVIS ELVIS! Elvis photos, Elvis stories, Elvis collectibles, all relating to Christmas. It made me wonder why there hasn't been a Christmas book published on Elvis yet after all these years. But I guess that was Jim's job! And he did a magnificent job to boot!

A beautiful hardback, a beautiful concept. This book is full of love, respect, admiration and nothing but goodness. I can tell that Jim loved Elvis and vice versa. That Author's Christmas chapter alone is a piece of work.

Only Elvis! Only Jim Curtin!

If this rating scale could go up to a 10 - I would give this book the 10! It is the absolute best!

Christmas has always been one of my favorite holidays, but never had a connection of Elvis and Christmas crossed my mind, other than playing his music. So I was surprised to see this book in the stores and offered on the net. I immediately bought it, and let me say this: this book is by far worth the money.

What a neat collection of Christmas collectibles, photos and stories. All perfectly selected and all with a reason.

This is really a drop-dead gorgeous publication.

Just another winner from Jim Curtin!

I think this is the very BEST book I have ever seen on Elvis. There is so much information that I didn't know. The family tree is especially interesting and the photographs are wonderful. It's like living Christmas with Elvis and being there with him. I know I will spend many hours reading this beautiful book over and over again. I highly recommend it to all Elvis fans!

I don't know why, but everytime I look at this book and read it, I cry. I know it is a happy time for all and Christmas is the best holiday in the world ... but it is so sad that Elvis can never share another one with his fans.

I will thank Mr. Curtin right here and now (and I sent him a letter as well) for bringing out this tremendous book. He is right when he says that we can now share every Christmas with Elvis, through his book. The book has photos of Elvis during the holidays and very moving stories as well. And as an added bonus, there are Christmas collectibles all throughout it as well. Some go back to the 1950s and others of today. I have noticed quite a few that I know I would like to have for my own, as my own little connection to Elvis at Christmas.

But let me make it known, this book will forever be on my coffee table, all year round.

This is the best book ever.....Whether you are an Elvis fan or not - this is a must.....Christmas was the favorite time of year for Elvis...Jim has wonderful pictures of Elvis and tidbits about his gifts, thoughts etc......I LOVE THE BOOK - look at it all the time...IT IS AMONG MY FAVORITES.....You won't EVER REGRET buying this book.......Thank you, Jim, for sharing it with us...

I LOVE THIS BOOK! The pictures and stories are just so heart warming! I don't know if there are any books about Elvis just at Christmas but this one is really worth the money. I am buying more for all my Elvis buddies and you should too..it would be a really nice gift for all your friends and the friends of Elvis at Christmas.

Thanks Jim for another Great Book on our Elvis. "CHRISTMAS WITH ELVIS", is a treasure for any Elvis Fan. Your Pictures are outstanding. Also love the Elvis Quotes. Your love for Elvis is so real, and it shows in your Books. Thanks for sharing them with all of us, who also loved Elvis, as he still plays a major part in our lives. On page 218, I love, "The Eternal Handshake". What a treasured memory you have, along with so many others. Thanks is also given to Renata for all her work and support on this Book.
