I first saw this movie while stationed with the military in Belgium when my sister-in-law made a copy and sent it too us. When it came out on video I bought a copy. This has become a Christmas tradition in our family to watch this movie as faithfully as "White Christmas", "It's A Wonderful Life" and other classics. This should be distributed in DVD. This is a wholesome and moving story of a how the Christmas Spirit can renew a family torn apart by past bitterness and bring the love and warmth that only this movie was able to portray. Bring it back in DVD is my plea -- have a very Merry Christmas America and remember our troops.

What can I say but WOW! Ron Liebman's tears in performance are so genuine that I wonder if he felt what I feel when watching this marvel of a film. Loretta Young true to her legacy is first rate and the rest of the cast superb. This is the other must see film each year alongside The Gathering.

Another one to be placed on DVD, anyone listening? When it does happen it will not stay on the shelf for very long. I bought my copy at a well known store many years ago and could not believe my eyes when I saw this only copy on the shelf.

Immediately after, the film was discontinued. I was very fortunate.

Get one and enjoy. You'll never be hesitant to let the tears flow no matter where you are or who is watching.

One of those movies that, seen once, it becomes part of your "Christmas movie repertoire". It wouldn't be Christmas without it. An absolutely charming tale of family love. Loretta Young is all that you would expect.

Christmas Eve is based on the 1947 Christmas Eve movie that starred George Raft. The new version is skillfully updated and tweaked. While both movies are good, I actually favor the 1986 made for TV version. There is a warmth that is palpable between the actors -- and the cast is impressive -- Loretta Young, Arthur Hill, Trevor Howard, etc. This is what a Christmas Movie should be -- heartwarming, family oriented, and a reminder that Christmas is about love, not gifts. The story contains just the right amount of tension to to keep it from being light-weight, it has substance, and yet, there is enough genuine tenderness that I am brought to tears at the end of the film, without fail, just like I am with It's a Wonderful Life.

It is unfortunate that this made for TV movie has never been released on DVD. I bought the VHS tape with great reluctance, but the movie is so good, that the holiday season simply isn't complete without Christmas Eve -- even if the version isn't visually crisp and the sound is muddy.

Loved this movie the first time I watched it. Look for it every year. I'm
putting together, old, classic, and great movies for my daughter for x-mas
as she loves them. So disapointed this is not available on DVD yet. It's such
a heartwarming picture. Please ........ DVD? How many of us have VCR's anymore.

This is one of those wonderful heartwarming movies you have to own for the holiday season!! I would LOVE to see it come out on DVD!!!!

We rate films on a scale of 1-10, 10 being tops. This one we scored 12 1/2! Really refreshing and encouraging to witness the positive resolution to broken relationships. Only wish the copyright owners would get off dead center and offer it on DVD.

I saw this movie on tv many years ago & really liked it. Great story line. I have been looking for it & just found it on Amazon.

From the 1st time I saw this movie it has been my favorite. The warmth and style is unbeatable and I, too, wish it was on DVD format.
I watch it every Christmas and cry every time.Definetely a quality movie!

I ordered this video for my mom for Christmas as it was one of her favorites. It came quickly and was in great shape just as it was described. I would definitely order from this vendor again.
