5.0 out of 5 stars Rockin' Xmas Funhouse!, December 3, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Christmas A Go-Go (Audio CD)
This may be the coolest Xmas CD ever made (or maybe 2nd greatest, as Little Steven says on the cover wrap). From the craziness of Joe Pesci and Soupy Sales (they sing, folks) to the raunchiness of Clarence Carter's "Back Door Santa" to the tear-it-up of Keith Richards and The Kinks, this one smokes like a yule log. I put this on while preparing for a Christmas party and found myself dancing around while mopping the floors. It it can make mopping fun, it can make your holidays fun. Maybe you won't even need the Xanax this year! Buy it.

This Christmas CD was assembled by Little Steven Van Zandt. All the songs here are great. Most of the songs were previously recorded, but there are also some new songs recorded especially for this CD (some produced by Little Steven himself). Most of the older songs are pretty rare, although the songs by the Ramones, Clarence Carter and the Kinks aren't that hard to find. But you do get super rare songs by Keith Richards, Bob Seger, Darlene Love and Soupy Sales (of all people). This is the Christmas album of the year.

What A Great Holidy Treat! Thank U, Little Steven, for the 2nd best Christmas Rockin' Record after, of course The Great Spector Chistmas Gift To You!! An incredible Killer selection of Tunes. Some of them can only be found now on this great cd. The incedible Keith Richards doing Run Rudolph Run which sounds like Chuck Berry but Keith got credit for it. Clarence Carter doing a great Back Door Santa, Roy Wood's Wizzard with the Great I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday, The Fab Four with Silent Night, Soupy Sales with Santa Claus Santa Claus Is Surfin' To Town and Joe Pesci is worried that it won't snow with If It Doesn't Snow On Christmas, The great Rufus Thomas with I'll Be Your Santa,Baby which is quite rare and very hard to find. The Kinks and their great Punk Rock Christmas single Father Christmas, which came out in 1977 during the year when Punk broke big in the UK. All in all, 20 great rockin' tunes for a very cool Yule. Well worth the price and I give you my very personal guarantee that you will be ecstatic!! Sincerely, SMRZ!!!
