I bought this for my husband and brought it home gift-wrapped. I just couldn't wait until Christmas, so I presented it. As soon as he saw the big box, he guessed it was a Geo. Foreman grill--it is ever so much better than that! It is a beautiful handmade wooden box and the music has a lovely sound. It is reminiscent of an old-time merry-go-round or calliope. My husband and I both think it is simply wonderful! It is such a bonus that it plays not just Christmas songs, but "classics," too. The animated skaters whirl amidst the pretty lighted Christmas trees. What a treasure!

I have a slightly different version of this, but it is the same company with the same type of box. Nowhere in the description of where I bought it did it say that it was not a real music box. What you have is electronic music playing while what looks like a music box mechanism turns around. Pretty cheesy.

The bells are real, and did work. They played in time to the electronic music.

The box is pretty, but if you look closely there is messy glue at some of the joints.

I may keep it to bring out at Christmas, or I may pass it on. It is too much bother to return it. Thanksfully I got it at a Christmas closeout so I didn't pay anywhere close to the original price.

I purchased this music box, because I thought it WAS a music box.
From the picture, the box has a music box mechanism that turns, but it is a fake. The music is electronic, NOT produced by the mechanism.
Two of the five bells do not ring, but "Thud" instead. I tried to loosen them to try to get them to ring, but they must be made wrong because they still sounded dull.
As far as the look of the box, it is very nice. The dancers are on a wheel that turns, and the lights flash on and off. The music is pleasant, even though it is electronic. However, for the price, it did not meet my expectations.
