The music on this CD is absolutely lovely and, at times, almost hauntingly beautiful. It makes you feel like you're in a cozy cabin in the Alps. Most of the songs are from Austria; only 2 or 3 are German. The instrumentals are excellent, as are the voices. Wonderful CD.
I also recommend the CD, Deutche Weihnachtslieder which is also called Christmas Songs & Tales, if you are looking for traditional German Christmas music.

I am an avid collector of Christmas music particularly the old classics and choral music from my childhood. I was searching Amazon for something new and refreshing and cheap. This CD fit the bill. After listening to some samples, I bought it along with 4 other CDs. The CD has a variety of tunes that really set a mood of peace and tranquility, of a simpler time. No massive choirs just simple small group harmonies and instrumental works that invoke the real meaning of Christmas.

Was bought as a gift for a German who loved it. Authenticity and quality of music made it a perfect gift choice.
