Christmas Hits Back to Back offers up a nice song set of holiday music by Diana Ross & The Supremes as well as The Temptations. True, the album is not as long as I would have liked it to be; but then again we get nothing but music from the pros here and I love that. The quality of the sound is terrific and I like that artwork, too. The only downside to this album is that quite a few (or even all) of these songs are available on other CDs; I don't think there are many new arrangements here so check to make sure you don't have these numbers already in your collection before you buy this CD.The Supremes do "White Christmas" with panache; they never let go of a single superfluous note and that's grand. The musical arrangement is particularly beautiful and this makes their rendition of "White Christmas" a charming song with which to start the album. "My Favorite Things" from "The Sound of Music" glows brighter than silver and gold when Diana Ross & The Supremes perform it faultlessly; and I'm very impressed. "Joy to the World" gets a most spirited arrangement and although I'm not too familiar with this version it is growing on me. "Silver Bells" is wonderful; and "My Christmas Tree" is also very well done. The Temptations also do a wonderful job with their Christmastime music. "The Christmas Song" is soulful with a measure of R&B and I really like that. "Give Love on Christmas Day" is a masterpiece in their capable hands; this is easily a major highlight of the album. "Little Drummer Boy" has great percussion and The Temptations outdo even themselves as they deliver "Little Drummer Boy" to perfection--and beyond! "Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer" charms me with its beauty; The Temptations do this particularly well and it's awesome. The album ends with The Temptations performing "Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town;" and it leaves me wanting more! Much like the holiday season, this CD is just too short! I recommend this CD for people who enjoy classic soul/R&B if they don't have these songs already in their collections.

LIGHT, BRIGHT, AND WITH THE CLASSICS LIKE "SILVER BELLS," "MY FAVORITE THINGS," "WHITE CHRISTMAS," "SANTA CLAUSE IS COMING TO TOWN," AND "THE CHRISTMAS SONG." WHAT ELSE IS THERE TO SAY? WE ALL KNOW THE TALENTS OF THESE ARTISTS AND THE STAYING POWER THAT THEY HAVE HAD IN THE BUSINESS.
