ah Every Year your shopping happily and then it happens,,that song comes on the radio,,The Christmas shoes and your reduced to tears. Right? Its okay so am I lol Believe it or not that group CAN do other songs as well,,its true really! LOL Traditional songs you might know such as "Silent night" and "Jingle Bell Rock " and other songs as well like " The Christmas Hope" "Bethlehem Calls" and of course..."The Christmas shoes." LOL IF your interested their is also a set of books based on the songs by Donna Vanliere and a movie as well starring Kimberly Williams Paisley (Dana from "According to Jim") Just be sure you have a pile of tissues handy! lol All in all I highly recommend the CD and the seller who got it to me very quickly in time for Christmas and in great shape, just as described!

It is a very good C.D. A mixture of styles of sounds that puts you in a real nice comfort zone for listening to unique music.

I was so pleased with the Christmas music on this. It is especially touching with the Song (Christmas shoes) about a little boy buying shoes for his mother before she dies.

Great Album.

The whole point of the cd is to remind us what Christmas is all about. Giving, being compassionate, putting other people first. Wanting to make a good impression to Jesus(from this little boys perspective). Great song/cd.

Of course, nothing compares to a live performance of the same-said music (the reason I ordered the CD). The music is lively and well produced. Voices are really good, with guests that compliment the band.

NewSong has been around quite some time - and even with some changes in the lead voice, the group maintains a standard of quality from release to release.

A touching Christmas album.

I haven't played this CD yet, but am sure it will be well worth the cost. The group always sounds great. Love being able to listen to the tracts before you purchase the album.

The only song I like from this album is "The Song of Christmas". The lyrics and melody really work together to make a song that is truly inspiring.

Last year, I was listening to the radio, making christmas cookies and enjoying the season. All the sudden, "Christmas Shoes" (which is on this album) started to play. It completely put me out of the happy mood I was in.

It is about a little boy buying a pair of shoes that his mom wished for. The mother is very sick, and is probably going to die on Christmas. The chorus goes:

"Sir I want to buy these shoes, for my momma please. [...] I want her to look beautiful, if mommy meets Jesus tonight."

Personally, I jump to try to turn this song off every time it goes on the radio since its so depressing. I can't comment to the rest of the album, but that song alone makes me steer clear.
