This is a great addition to your library.

All the tracks have excellent arrangements, which have some new twists on the traditional sounds of the songs.

Too much of a bubble gum pop sound for me.

One of the greatest gifts this Christmas season comes from the immensely talented vocal group, Wilson Phillips. With their latest release, "Christmas In Harmony", the listener is treated to 13 arrangements of holiday songs--both old & new--all lavished with WP's signature lush harmonies & produced by Glen Ballard, the same talent who perfected their sound in the early 90's.

The CD opens with, "I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday". Although lyrically a bit inane, Wilson Phillips breathe new life into this relic from the early 70's turning it into a fun, catchy pop tune.

They cover standards such as "Little Drummer Boy", "The Christmas Song" & Silver Bells" making each one uniquely their own with their extraordinary vocal styling. And favorites such as "Sleigh Ride" & "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town" possess an enjoyable girl-group vibe reminiscent of the 60's.

The CD's true highlights are the 3 new WP offerings. "Warm Lovin' Christmastime", written by Carnie's husband, Rob Bonfiglio, is a wonderful, up tempo tune that shines as it celebrates being with the one you love at Christmas. Then there's "Christmastime" created by Chynna & producer Glen Ballard. It's a bright, effervescent number that evokes a feeling of pure bliss. Lastly, "Joy" is a gorgeous song that captivates with WP's shimmering vocals.

The CD closes with a number written & arranged by Brian Wilson. "Our Prayer" is a stunning, wordless a capella piece that showcases the amazing vocal prowess of Wilson Phillips.

With both festive & beautiful song selections, brilliant production & stunning vocals, "Christmas In Harmony" captures the essence of the love & joy at the holiday season!!

I loved WP when they first burst onto the music scene in the early 90s. So I went and got this CD. The vocals and harmonies are okay, but it's nothing to get all excited about. It was a little disappointing. Silent Night on this CD sounds more restained and not as powerful as when they recorded it for A Very Special Christmas 2 in 1992. Maybe that was done on purpose.

The new songs are nice sounding, but I don't think they'll become holiday standards we hear every year on the radio. The last song, Our Prayer, consists of the trio harmonizing together for less than 90 seconds. That's it. No words, just aahhhs. Very strange. I was waiting for a few vocals.

The girls still sound good, but I was expecting more from this CD.

This is an awesome album, and even better that the artist are donating 1 million dollars of the proceeds to Autism research!

Wilson-Phillips first Christmas cd - and their first album in six years which pairs them with their original producer Glen Ballard - is the modern Christmas music masterpiece we were hoping for. For those who like their Christmas music on the familiar side, there are plenty of standards to be found here like "Little Drummer Boy" and "Silver Bells" and "Winter Wonderland" that are elevated to a celestial level thanks to Wilson Phillips' always incredible harmonies. They even recreate Spector's production of The Ronettes' "Sleigh Ride" right down to the "ringa linga linga ding dong ding" backgrounds.

What makes this cd so special are the stellar quality of the original tracks "Warm Lovin' Christmastime" (written by Carnie's hubby Rob Bonfiglio), "Christmastime" (penned by Chynna Phillips and producer Glen Ballard - the same pairing that wrote Wilson Phillips' first hit "Hold On") and the appropriately joy-filled "Joy" (composed by all of the gals, Rob and Glen). The cd isn't perfect, as it leads off with the bit too busy/noisy revival of `70s glam rockers Wizzard "I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day." Once we get past that aberration, however, it is smooth sailing - and a Merry Christmas for all.

It is great to have Wilson Phillips back on CD. The trio's covers album a few years ago was outstanding, but probably never got much support at radio. And with the ladies now all grown up, they most likely don't have the time to promote their albums like they did in the early 1990s. You might be thinking that you already have a Carnie Wilson holiday CD and a Wilson sisters Christmas CD, but this one beats both of them, with those signature three-part harmonies. "Warm Lovin' Christmatime" is a great original track that should be heard every year (instead of a 10 millionth spin of "Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer"). The rest of the songs are re-makes, but these long-time friends' harmonies are as tight as the Everly Brothers' were 40 years before them. Well worth your money.

This is a nice Christmas album but one thing I noticed is that the volume was much louder than any of the other music I had in my player so I had to turn it down and after it was over I had to turn the volume up again. I don't know who did their engineeering but he must be deaf. Overall the album was good but it seemed less in the spirit than it could have been. The ladies have lovely voices but some music choices could have been better or at least better arrange for their voice qualities.

Okay, I am a long-time fan, so I admit I am pretty easy to please when it comes to WP. This Christmas CD exceeded my expectations. It's a must-have to put in your CD player when you want your home filled with the holiday spirit (or played off your iPod - whatever works for you)! Even the slow and steady standards have a nice WP twist on them, most readily felt in the special harmonies they create. You won't be disappointed!
