I've been a fan of Keith Sweat's since 1987 and, despite the occassional slight departure from his bass-heavy, keyboard-driven R&B style, his style has pretty much stayed the same, and that's a good thing. He has a tried and true style that's as entertaining and good as it was back in the late 1980s.
And that style is here on his Christmas album -- the sound's the same, but the topics are all about the holiday.
Some may not like that he doesn't perform such classics as "The Christmas Song" the traditional way, but given the familiarity of the old classic performances of such a song, it's good to hear that Keith Sweat just sang it in his style, rather than changing to mimic what we've already heard before and know full well.

After all of these years, I am STILL the biggest Keith Sweat fan, I like everything he does. This CD was just as good as anything he done in the past. Not your traditional Christmas songs, which you tend to burn out on. If your looking for a laid back R&B type thing, this is it. I would highly recommend it.

I love the songs on this CD. It is a prefect time for the holiday. Very romantic and full of holiday love.

For the true Keith Sweat fans out there, this should be enjoyable, but I wouldn't rate this product as a true holiday must have. Most of the tracks sound like typical Keith Sweat fare to be found on his other CDs.

Keith Sweat's 2007 Christmas album "A Christmas of Love" isn't as well known as the holiday offerings from many of his R&B contemporaries, but it is a strong release. The nine tracks include eight originals, and Keith keeps very true to his legendary smooth style. As is the case on his most recent recordings, his voice sounds higher than some of his casual listeners may recall from his classic 90s records, but he still sounds great with his unmistakable nasal delivery and intonation. Some songs are certainly more memorable than others, but it's a very likable set with a balance of joyful, upbeat winter songs and slow yuletide ballads. Production is also good. Highlights include his rendition of standard "The Christmas Song" and the slow, begging "Be Your Santa Claus." My favorite songs are the heartfelt "All I Want for Christmas," a wonderful ballad, and the closer "Under the Tree," which is also excellent. Keith's Christmas album is certainly a worthwhile purchase for his fans, because he continues to provide the type of music that has made him a perennial favorite for two decades, here in the Christmas setting.

Keith Sweat is an okay singer. He has an unique voice and style of music. But I didn't really enjoy this Christmas album and I like R/B christmas albums (Brian McKnight, Ledisi, Boyz II Men...). The beats and style of every song on the album sounded like something you would hear in the 80's or the early 90's when he first came out. He didn't try to get with the sound that today's listeners are accustomed to like Mariah Carey did on her last album. That is probably why it didn't sell too good. But if you are a true Keith Sweat Fan, then you would probably like it because it sounds like every other album he recorded including the ones from way back when.

This is a great CD from Keith Sweat for Christmas! All songs are original songs from Keith with some good mood-setting tunes to get your holidays started off right!
