Christmas Magic

The price of this cd makes it more than worth the price and it contains various well known Christmas recording stars. However, for some reason I don't find this cd as enjoyable as other Christmas collaborations made up of various recording stars. While all the songs are well known as are the performers the two are not matched up well. For example, Bing Crosby sings "Do You Hear What I Hear?" and Nat King Cole Sings "God Rest Ye Mery Gentlemen." While the songs are well sung these are not the first Christmas songs I associate with these singers. Now some people may appreciate that kind of variety but for me it had the same effect as listening to the b side track of the old 45 albums.

There are some exceptions to my above review. Leontyne Price sings, as on every Christmas album, "Ava Maria" and Johnny Mathis sings "Sleigh Ride" and might I add he sings it beautifully!

While there are some cd's or albums that I like to sing along with or listen to in the car I find this makes a better background music cd. I enjoy playing it while eating dinner with the family or with family get togethers during the Holidays.

If you love Good Christmas Music, this this album would be worth looking into and adding to your library. This album has a very nice mix of tradtional seasonal favorites from various artests.
