A rough-hewn, soulful set of bluegrass yuletide, with tracks dating back to Rebel's early '60s origins. The Country Gentlemen, Larry Sparks, Dr. Ralph Stanley and others add their holiday cheer... High marks go to Paul Williams and his Victory Trio, who are (naturally) quite well suited to the genre. Highly recommended!

This is a refreshing collection - calling it "Bluegrass" I think doesn't do it justice. This "mountain music" is it's own variety (of Bluegrass and country), real down to earth, has it's own uniqueness and album groups show VERY good musical skills. The lyrics are beautiful, basic themes of the Christmas spirit. Lovely way to "get back to the basics" of Christmas...
