5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best Christmas albums ever, July 29, 2004
This review is from: Christmas Music (Audio CD)
I gave this CD to a friend for Christmas one year, and I got a note from her that this was simply the most wonderful Christmas Album that she had ever heard.

The choral group (Sons of Orpheus) is one of the best in the world. They have toured extensively internationally. The repertoire on the CD is international. It includes beautiful Swedish carols and also selections in German, English and French.

One of the soloists, the baritone, has since become a top Don Giovanni on the world operatic stage. On this album he sings a Christmas Song composed by Sibelius, a rare item.

I recommend this album, look at the list of selections and you may agree with me that this is a sleeper that deserves to be discovered by an international audience.

A music lover in Manhattan.

Unlike most CD's floating around out there, this one doesn't have a bad song on it. It's beyond amazing. While a "Christmas" album, some selections stay with me year-round (not understanding Swedish helps to this end...). It is most unfortunate that more music from this ensemble is not easily found in the United States. Their precision is truly extraordinary, creating, at times, a sense of near-euphoria for fans who enjoy the unique sound of a great mens choir.
