I own this gorgeous piece. I love lighting the candles and watching it slowly turn. This brings back memories of my christmases in Germany as a child. We had two, one big and one small. Keep the box it comes in for storage, this is very fragile. This is not a toy!!!! The intricate details are inticing to children, but their little hands do not know how to be gentle. My mother had to tell us, "we look at it, we don't touch it." The candles burn fast though. Buy an extra box. You can keep candles in ziploc bags in the fridge or freezer. If they are kept in the heat they will melt and be of no use to you come christmas. I hope you enjoy your piece of German tradition as I do!

This is a wonderful addition to our Christmas decorations! It is fragile, however, and not acceptable for young children to touch. I bought the candles to go with it, and they are slightly too small. It is necessary to melt wax into the holder first so they will stand up. We enjoyed ours so much we kept it out until February 1st!
