This review is from: Christmas in Snowy Forest: A Muppet Lift-the-Flap Book (Muppets) (Paperback)
My daughter and I really enjoyed this book years ago !"On Christmas Eve, Robin is invited to a party at Bear's place but has no clue where Bear lives. On her way, she asks her animal"s friends, who hides under the Lift-The-Flaps in the snowy forest to give direction... Then they find Bear and everybody joins in the party!" Alison Inches text is simple and effective to read. Her questions formatting is a good way to engage both the reader and the listener. Richard Brown's beautifully executed full-page color illustrations rightfully enlarge the meaning of the words. There is a good page-to-page visual continuity with busy compositions, yet I felt a good sense of breathing space left for the characters who moves inside the forest landscape. The make of this book is well suited to the uses -and abuses! of small children: The 8 Lift-The-Flaps are big and easy to be opened with the fingers of infant and toddlers. The 16 pages (7.5" X 7.5") and the Lift-The-Flaps are made of a strong card-stock with an easy to wash glossy surface. This is a great Muppet's short story.
