I am a HUGE Fernando Ortega fan who has found his music to be a tremendous blessing and ministry to my soul. When I heard he was preparing a Christmas CD I was psyched!! When I actually bought the cd and listened to it it was definitely typical Fernando. The instrumentation is simple but beautiful, and the CD is top quality. I was disappointed at the length; the 10 songs clock in at just over 39 minutes which, in this digital age seems very short!! 3 of the 10 songs are instrumentals, and 2 of the songs are re-recordings of "Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence" and "Jesus King of Angels", songs I have loved but that I've not thought of as being particularly "incarnation-centered."

This is a very good CD that will be a blessing to you, but it could have been so much more!!! Hopefully he will do another Christmas CD later in his career.

. . . okay, so he "soft rocks" but you get the idea! Fernando is a master musician and artist. In what is so often a hectic holiday season, do yourself a favor, pick up the CD, and spend some time relaxing in contemplation. I know what everyone's getting for Christmas.

Fernando's reverent style of vocal and a few wonderful instrumental pieces invoke the Spirit, yes, the Spirit of an expectant Christmas. New arrangements that only Fernando can write will be a new experience from the noise of the season.

Bless this gift and the gift heralded by Fernando.

Good and solid performances. Not my favorite of Fernando Ortega but some good songs on this cd.

I love Fernando's rhythms and piano accompaniments to these old Christmas favorites because they make you really listen to them again. In the first song, the words, "born to reign in us forever" stood out to me. I got it for my birthday on Nov. 3 and I'm glad I started listening to it already. The cello parts are also outstanding!

Fernando Ortega is one of the best loved Christian artists around today, and with good reason! The Spirit resonates through his voice and music, a spirit of peace and joy which makes some of these tired old Christmas songs come alive again. And the inclusion of a hymn not usually associated with Christmas, "Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence" is a refreshing change. His arrangements and musicianship are perfection as always, with a pleasing blend of instrumentals and vocals. Gloria in Excelsis Deo!

I have never listened to Fernando Ortega before, but Amazon recommended it based on my other Christmas album purchases, so I gave it a shot. It's a lengthy album, with about half instrumental and half vocal selections. The entire album is pretty laid back, calm, soothing. Lots of strings, piano, and light percussion. It's not completely acoustic, but it has a mellow acoustic type sound. The vocals are equally soothing and pleasant. Makes for a very nice listen, but at the time I bought it, it was nearly twenty dollars. To me, that's a bit expensive for an album unless it's one of my favorite bands ever. If the price doesn't bother you, it's a nice listen.

I bought this after watching a youtube video about one of the songs on the CD. But the last song on the CD has become the favorite of our family. Jesus King of Angels is one of the most comforting songs I've ever heard.

Fernando was meant to do a christmas album, and he didn't disappoint. As usual, there are no filler songs. It's obvious that his soul was poured into each one. It's relaxing enough to leave on in the background, great to crank up on an evening drive alone, and even one that my young children enjoy listening to. Definitely one that we'll keep in our Christmas rotation!

This had very few traditional christmas carols, and they were very stylized. If I hadn't expected Christmas, I would have liked it more.
