Stephanie brings X-mas cheer with this album. The songs to listen to are This Christmas and Rudolph. Step does a soulful version of each song.

The best songs are Silent Night and especially, Christmas With You. This is such a sophisticated, soulful sounding Silent Night, I currently and will keep listening to it all through the year! This is an extremely rich sounding, well produced R&B, sophisticated Jazz type albumn. Add to it Stephanie Mills' blow you away voice, reminiscent of 'Home' from The Wiz, and you're gone. This CD is great for a romantic date, a romantic car ride, etc., especially Christmas With You. I heard this song in a store while I was shopping, had to stop, copy down the title lyric (knew it was her voice) and run to the record store to get it! I've been in heaven with this hidden treasure ever since. Who knew?

Never has a singer released a collection of Christmas songs quite as great as "Stephanie Mills Christmas", so joyous & incredible sounds great all year around...enjoyed too many times to count since released in 1991!! Sad this stunning collection isn't a yearly holiday standard or hasn't sold millions, yet with proper promotion and exposure it easily would as anyone who hears this tour-de-force classic is blown away, glad now available year around on Amazon.com~GET IT!!! A singer for all seasons, Stephanie Mills takes each song in this stellar masterpiece and makes it her own creating the definitive version...opening with a soulful and infectious "This Christmas", one can easily determine this priceless set is going to be the ultimate holiday treat of a lifetime, each amazing vocal is matched with an arrangement that is total perfection. A magical "Silent Night" can bring one to tears and clearly Stephanie Mills with Dave Koz on Saxophone is a glorious match made in musical heaven, "White Christmas" is breathtakingly beautiful! "Christmas With You" is a tremendous engaging vocal so full of feeling making this song a deeply moving experience while the funky "Rudolph The Red-Nose Reindeer" and smooth rocking "Jingle Baby" are joyous and completely original. For a bright Holiday Season don't miss this gem with masterful performances like classic anthem of inspiration "We Can Move Mountains", making this magnificent masterpiece great listening anytime in the year for one who wants to hear classic songs sung by the greatest singer on the planet. Thank you Stephanie Mills for a timeless and magical Holiday Classic, hopefully somehow this incomparable collection of incredible performances will be recognized for the remarkable masterpiece it truly is...BRAVO STEPHANIE!

This has without a doubt, been my favorite Christmas album since it was released back in 1991. It's a mystery to me that it never got more notice! Though it's a sad tune, "It Doesn't Feel Like Christmas Without You" is one of my favorites. As well as the homey "Christmas with You" and Steph's remarkable remake of "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer" -- which is done in a funky R&B fashion, replete with new melodies and a very cute rap!

These tunes are balanced by more sublime readings of "Silent night" and "White Christmas," which both benefit noticeably from the impeccable harmonies of the male group Company (they're amazing!).

Throughout the CD, there is a feeling of warmth, home, and peace brought about by the well-structured arrangements (instrumental and vocal), emotive lyrics, and Stephanie's incomparable voice and delivery. While many Christmas albums seem rushed and sloppy, this one is a rare exception! I was surprised to see that it's going for considerably more money now on average - but it is definitely worth it if you want to give your holiday season a boost!

Without a doubt, this christmas album proves that Stephanie Mills is one of the most gifted (and underappreciated) singers of her generation! In terms of vocal greatness, Mills ranks with the young Whitney Houston or Mariah Carey. In the 1980's she had a modicum of success but nowhere near what she's deserved. Blessed with a silken timbre that recalls the young Diana Ross, Mills' voice and range is also much bigger and theatrically disciplined. As "Home" from "The Wiz" made clear, Mills is a belter who can give you goose bumps! That great voice is served very well on this album. There are absolutely gorgeous charmers here like "It Doesn't Feel Like Christmas (Without You)" and "Christmas with You," while tunes like "Jingle Baby" easily recall the sassiness of the Supremes. There are also inspirational numbers like "We Can Move Mountains" and "Love is To Listen" that would not seem out of place on any of Mills' previous albums. And her stunning, near-acapella versions of "Silent Night" and "White Christmas" rank among the best versions ever recorded. In short, this remarkable effort has just the right mix of contemporary and traditional christmas songs and it sounds as fresh as it did when it was released in 1991.

By far the best rendition to "Silent Night" I have ever heard!!! I found this cd to be inexpensive find. Shephanie Mills is a great, under-rated singer. BUY THIS CD and listen to "Silent Night" and "This Christmas". These are the best tracks but overall a very good singer.
Peace and Love throughout the year.
