The Christmas Story Book is one of the best anthologies of Christmas tales available anywhere. The stories are a colorful collection, carefully chosen to show the spirit of Christmas in many different facets. The book is divided into five sections: Advent, the Birth of the Child, Christmas night through the ages, Christmas in the world, and the Three King's time. Authors include Hans Christian Andersen, Leonid Andreiev, Jane Clement, Maxim Gorki, Gerhard Klein, Selma Lagerlöf and many more. This review is from the Waldorf book site.
What is enjoyable about a short story collection is the volume of warmth and thought one can dip into and receive. This collection is magical and universal. Bought for my young children years ago, I am re-reading it this Christmas. |
