I stumbled upon this CD by chance and boy am I glad I did. Waht unique arrangements on some favorite carols. I love the beats, the piano the overall feeling this CD has. You can't help but start to move your feet and sing when the music comes on. I love what he did with Deck the halls. I am most definitely buying his entire catalog this type of music simply moves me. Its a good thing Amazon stocks his CDs. Merry Christmas and once more from the top. Highly recommended.

You'll either love it or hate it, but for me this is a must for the Christmas season! With the unique musical variations and the classic songs of Christmas, you have a cannot miss this CD for your holidays. This is perfect for trimming the tree or opening presents or whatever special event you celebrate during the Christmas season. Even the Kids love this CD, You cant help but tap your toes to this Gem.

Last year, I heard the music of this man for the first time, and quickly fell in love with his style and this CD. I purchased 11 of these other than my personal copy for Christmas gifts. From young to old, child to adult, all who listened to this CD fell in love with it. Last year was the first time in years that I had truly felt the Christmas spirit, and that feeling enveloped me the first time I heard this CD. Ironically, I have been waiting all of 2004 for Christmas to arrive, just so I would feel it appropriate to listen to this CD again, and I will be buying some copies again this year to give as gifts, it really is that good.

This is by far one of the best instrumental Christmas albums I have ever heard. I purchased this per recommendation of a friend and now I know why she was insisting that I check it out. Mehdi's version of God rest ye merry gentlemen is powerful yet lot's of fun. We three kings is jazzy and very kool and what child is this will give you images of the perfect Christmas. This is a happy album that will definitely put any one including scrooge in the Christmas spirit. A must have during holiday gatherings. Buy it now and you'll be very glad you did for years to come...

I love this CD, but is was a surprise since it only offered 4 slower pieces -- which are the ones I like best! However, the arrangements are wonderful, and I'm going to enjoy listening to this during the holiday season. This would be great played in the background of a Christmas gathering!

That is, be careful not to overplay this before Christmas. Not that you'll get tired of it. Quite the contrary, you want to avoid excessive playing simply as not to burn a hole right through the disc! I may have to end up getting a fresh copy myself, before NEXT Christmas rolls around. You can hardly go wrong with this CD, and the only reason I didn't give this 5 stars, is because there are a couple of songs that are less than stellar, but it's still really a great CD.

I have difficulty believing the negative responses this CD has gotten here. It seems that you either love it or you don't, which I suspect is the way with most things. -- Having said that, and having heard nearly all the other (equally excellent) Mehdi recordings, I think this recording is fabulous. The musical stylings contained in this recording are sophisticated and subtle, playful and sublime, classic and cutting edge. Every last one is delightful to listen to. My three year old son has an extensive music collection consisting of many genres (including many other Christmas recordings) and this CD above all others is what he requests to listen to every single day. He loves it so much that he spontaneously asked for a tape recorder for his birthday so that he could send a copy to one of his out of state friends. He suggested it as the holiday gift of choice for his nursery school teachers this year. If that isn't a strong endorsement straight from a kid, I don't know what is.

Listen to the samples cause this may not be for everybody, but everyone that I've played it for so far has loved it. the uplifting, fun feeling of Christmas is what this CD is all about. Magical !!!

I originally came across this title on Amazon and heard it in the shopping mall in 2002. It had all the shoppers humming. I have played it every christmas since. It contains some of our favourite chritmas songs with a bit of a swing to make them sound that little bit different. Everyone who hears this music enjoys it.

This album came out in 2000 and Mehdi has a new one that was just released "Christmas Treasures 2", they are both good, solid additions to their collection. Having such classics as Joy to the World and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, it is pleasant to listen to, with their rendition of Carol of the bells / we three kings being my all time favorite.

Now, some can argue as to which album of Mehdi is better. As for myself, I love them all. this is a very nice Mehdi Christmas album, with lots of great tunes. It makes for nice, fun mood music, and goes along excellently as background music for a party. My family and I love this music, and do not hesitate to recommend it to you.
