Meredith McCauley has always wished she could fly like a real fairy. One dark Christmas night, she meets the Christmas Tree Fairy, who has dropped her wand. Meredith tries to help, and when she shrinks to fairy size, she climbs the Christmas tree to bring the fairy her wand. Along the way, she meets some friendly ornaments who all have special wishes of their own. The grateful fairy gives Meredith the chance to make three wishes, and Meredith forgoes her own wish to fly in order to make the ornaments’ wishes come true. Her selfless act is then rewarded, and Meredith gets the chance to have her wish at last.

Meredith always wanted to fly and she always wore her pretend wings; could her dream come true? On Christmas Eve she meets the Christmas tree fairy who lost her wand and needed Meredith to help get it back to her.
Meredith is excited, perhaps the Christmas tree fairy will give her a wish and she will be able to fly,but on her adventure Meredith learns what true giving is all about. This is a delightful tale teaching children to care for others. The illustrations are very well done, colorful and definitely bring the story to life. A wonderful Christmas tale for young and old.
