Dave has assembled a nice variety of Chistmas favorites. If you enjoy listening to Dave's truck driving songs you will enjoy this CD as part of your Chritmas festivities as well as throughout the year.

I'm really just a passing fan of both country music and Mr.D(Dave Dudley)but I have always enjoyed the guy-next-door and shoot-from-the-hip delivery of his music.His biggest hit"Six Days on the Road" has always been a fave of mine.He was singing about trucking long before CW McCall moved in in the 70s with "Convoy".
Born in Wisconsin in 1928 Dudley had his first brush with recording in 1959 with "Where there's a Will".In 1963 he recorded "Six Days..." on one label(which sold over a million) and moved over to Mercury that same year where he would re-record "Six Days.." and have success with other songs like "Truck Drivin Son of a Gun","Truckers Prayer" and "Anything leaving Town today".He left Mercury in the 70s but went on to record around 70 different albums in total in his career.His biggest days as far as hits went,passed by but he always remained a popular draw in concert.His last hurrah came after 9/11 when he recorded the patriotic "American Trucker".In December of 2003 we lost Mr D but his recording legacy carries on and this Christmas CD is a wonderful set to own.Unlike alot of country CDs this doesn't have the constant strain of steel guitars and fiddles in the background.It is just a nice straight forward CD of Christmas favourites and others done in that inimitable style only Mr D could render:

I HAVE NEARLY A FULL DISCOGRAPHY ON DAVE DUDLEY FROM WAY BACK AND CAN SAY THAT I WOULD RECOMMEND ANY AND ALL MATERIALS BY HIM TO ANYONE WHO ENJOYS GOOD COUNTRY MUSIC AND COUNTRY CHRISTMAS MUSIC. HE IS A MAN WITH A VOCAL TALENT OF PAST AND PRESENT COUNTRY MUSIC.

HIS MATERIAL IS MORE LIKE A 10 AND IF YOU DO NOT HAVE ANY DAVE DUDLEY MATERIALS IN YOUR COLLECTION, GET SOME 'SOON', YOU "HAVE MISSED SOMETHING GREAT".
