Love the cool touch on live tree. Never felt need to turn them off or have a fire. Each string needs to go to the wall though, requiring 9 power inputs be present for my 10 foot tree. 8 light strings and 1 topper. You'll need a new topper if yours is old, amber light style. White light (bordering on blue) plus yellow doesnt look too good. Overall, I am pleased since these were pretty cheap, but the lack of chainability would make me not buy these if i had it to do over.

They look kind of cheap before you turn them on, but they do look much nicer lit. The real problem is that they have several different "flash" settings, which is one of the most poorly designed features I've ever encountered. It has about 8 settings and every time you turn these on you have to flip through all of the setting to find the one you want (NO IT DOESN'T START ON THE LAST SETTING IT WAS On). What's worse is that there is no indication of which setting you're on until the effect comes about. That means you have to switch to one, then wait and watch to see if it's the one you want, then proceed to next. These really would've been a lot better had you been able to switch these on to the desired level without inducing a seizure staring at the damn flashing lights. I probably would've given these at least 4 stars had they not had any type of setting adjustments at all and just been constantly on. It's one completely unnecessary feature that pretty much ruins the product.

I'm very happy with these lights. I bought them to use as decorations for my outside wedding reception, which hasn't happened yet, but we put them up in my future in-laws' backyard for an evening BBQ and they were really pretty. The light is bright, cool (not yellow-ish) white. The only drawback is you can't chain them, which might be more of a issue if using to decorate a tree.

Good quality lights but the color is "off". It's supposed to be warm white but the color comes off as too yellow with a bit og green mixed in. We ended up finding a place for them, but looked elsewhere for actual warm white lights.

These lights are supposed to be warm white, but what they are is dirty yellow. I'm so disappointed and can't use them. Don't waste your money if you want warm white

These lights are exactly what you pay for...the bottom of the technology development and manufacturing chain. When you first plug in the lights you go "NICE!" There is even a box to select different flashing patterns, and you say "SCORE!" But whatever you do, don't plug the lights into a daily cycling timer. The programming chip for the lights cannot handle this daily event and randomly changes the pattern from "constant on" to waking you up to a seizure inducing "strobe from Hades" that made our cat announce the end of life as we know it was quickly approaching. But then, they got dim...and then dimmer....and finally, after a week, they all went out.
If you want lights for a couple hours...then this is the ticket. If you want lights for a couple of days...it might fit the bill. But longer than a month and you should think about paying a bit more.

These are perfect for a wedding. The strings are long and the lights are a brilliant white. I was pleasantly surprised to find various lighting options included with the string. Once plugged in you can press a button which switches the lights between a gentle sparkle, fading on and off, a strobe-light effect, and the default all on. I think the strobe-light effect will be a lot of fun when the dancing gets started!

As the other reviewers noted, they can't be chained so not recommended for Christmas tree decorating, but for a backyard or wedding these are perfect.

I rate them 2 stars because the light bulb color is all mixed up. I ordered 5 packets of lights. They were all supposed to be "Warm White" in color. It turns out they are assorted colors and none of them are white. They are a light blue and an off green color.

I used these to light the space above my kitchen cabinets. The light is a beautiful blueish-white. I am very pleased with these lights.

Fairy lights sounds so lovely, but though these work fine, I don't find them pretty at all. They have a very 'tech' look about them, not in the least Christmasy.
