4.0 out of 5 stars Christmas with the Bradys
Okay, well they may not be the best singers, but Christmas with the Brady Bunch does carry some nostalgia with it which earns it a lot of credit. I happen to have a copy of the original record, not the CD so I have grown up listening to this album for many years during Christmas time and I couldn't imagine Christmas without the Brady's. Maybe growing up with the Brady's...

2.0 out of 5 stars Not the best they can do
Don't waste your time. The songs are rather boring and don't really show off the true talent that we know The Brady Bunch has. If you're looking for good music from The Brady Bunch, I definitely recommend "It's a Sunshine Day: The Best of the Brady Bunch" instead. It has all their greatest hits, including the ones performed on the show, and much more variety than the...

Maybe growing up with the Brady's and listening to this album for many years brings back happy memories which makes me rate this album 4 stars. I would give it 5 stars but I know their voices weren't the best, but for what it was, a simple and traditional Christmas album of the 70's, I feel it deserves at least 4 stars.

4.0 out of 5 stars I Like It!, December 14, 2006
Yes, it's kids singing and it sounds like it. But know what? It's cute. Don't buy it if you are looking for something other than a kids' singalong, but it's fun if you like the Brady Bunch. Also if you're nostalgic like me. It's fun and cute and great for family listening. Better than some newer Christmas CDs I have, in fact, because - face it - we do know all these songs. If you sing along, sing real loud!

1.0 out of 5 stars We wish you a Brady Christmas, December 1, 2003
By
This was the first album released by the Brady Bunch. Unfortunately, it was also their worst album. I could mention the dull arrangements of traditional Christmas carols here. But worse than that is the kids' singing. Marsha was the only one who could come close to carrying a tune at this point. To be fair to them, they worked hard and later became better singers. But at this point in their show biz careers, listening to them sing was unbearable. Greg's singing on "O Holy Night" is particularly painful. By the way, this album is only 20 minutes long, which is fortunate, because that's about all a sane person can take. This album has nothing to recommend about it. Sorry, Brady fans.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not that Bad!!, August 4, 2005
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
From the reviews, I was expecting this CD to be alot worse than it was. I think the kids just sound like young kids. I'm glad I bought this CD. I will listen to it year round. The Bradys are outta site!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it!, August 31, 1999
I bought this CD because I wanted to know what their singing sounded like, and I enjoyed it! I loved the girls' voices; they were very clear yet strong and beautiful. The boys weren't bad either. If you are a fan of the Brady Bunch and enjoy Christmas carols, this CD is for you. It's a pity there are only 12 tracks and they aren't longer. I would also like to see more Brady albums.

1.0 out of 5 stars This is what you get if you've been a bad little boy, October 25, 2006

This album is awful. I bought it for nostalgic/ ironic purposes, and it's not even good for those. The arrangements are terrible, and the singing is worse. The decision to use the character names instead of those of the real actors is strange. Even still, they misspell Marcia as Marsha. I like the Bradys and will point out that they later became competent vocalists with tuneful arrangements. This Christmas album seems to have been the reason they sought help. Again, I like the Bradys but I can't think of any reason for this to still be in print. (If you like it, don't let me change your mind- I'm just giving one perspective.) The only decent arrangement is Frosty, and you can get it on the Sunshine Day compilation. The only good news is, if you're a completist or a masochist, this collection is always cheap. In all, a really bad album. I don't recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars a Very Brady Christmas, December 19, 2010
The original release date of this album is 1970 and the sound and style of the music really reflect this time period. Everything sounds very festive and almost has a retro quality to it.

Please note, the CD incorrectly credits some of the kids as "lead vocals" on some tracks.

These are the correct lead vocals for the CD:

1) The First Noel - Mike

2) Away in a Manger - Maureen

3) The Little Drummer Boy - all 6 kids

4) O Come All Ye Faithful - Eve

5) O Holy Night - Maureen & Barry

6) Silent Night - all 6 kids

7) Jingle Bells - all 6 kids

8) Frosty the Snowman - Susan

9) Silver Bells - all 6 kids

10) Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer - all 6 kids

11) Santa Claus is Coming to Town - Barry

12) We Wish You a Merry Christmas - all 6 kids

Not surprisingly the best voice is probably Maureen's, but all of the kids sound good. Perhaps my favorite song on the CD is "Silver Bells" because it has almost a country western sound to it and all of the kids sound really great singing together on this song.

Be warned, the CD is very short, only 20 minutes in total. The first 6 songs are traditional and the last 6 are more contemporary or secular.

Get this CD and play it while you're wrapping or getting ready for Christmas and it will surely make you feel Christmasy. If you enjoy The Brady Bunch and Christmas (and really, who doesn't?) you'll love this CD.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great for little kids!, September 16, 2010
I suggest getting this "Brady" CD and enjoy from the second half of the CD forward. It seems the cute songs are great..like Frosty and Jingle bells.

The slower Christmas songs in the first half are painful..it's true. However, this CD was a big hit for a kids party our family had and all the upbeat songs were great! It's for kids and Brady nostalgia folks.
