5.0 out of 5 stars One of the Best Christmas Album
Donny Osmond never fails and he does not again with this very beautiful Christmas cd. I love it and when I hear the songs, they always entertain me, enlighten me, and remind me that "Jesus is the reason for the season".

It is one of the very best Christmas cd, right next to Clay Aiken, The Osmonds, and the Carpenters' Christmas cds.

3.0 out of 5 stars Christmas at Home by Donny Osmond
Many people tend to pass off Donny Osmond as just the handsome loooking teen idol( along with his sister Marie) in the mid seventies, but many do not realize just how incredible a singer Osmond is. His whole family sings, but Donny has the best vocie of the bunch by far. He has a voice that rivals almost all of the male singers we have today ( he is over 40). He also had...

5.0 out of 5 stars If you weren't a fan, this CD could change your mind!, December 14, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Christmas at Home (Audio CD)
I have quite a collection of Christmas music but Donny's is by far my favorite. I admit I have been a fan of his for years but this CD really blew me away. I have found that many of my friends who never were, particularly, fans have fallen in love with some of the tracks of this CD. It's a very eclectic CD from the '40s-style "I'll Be Home for Christmas" to the very modern style of "Who Took the Merry Out of Christmas". There are some different arrangements of familiar songs and some songs which may be unfamiliar to you. Personally, I think the ballads, especially "Mary, Did You Know?" and "A Soldier's King" best show the clear rich quality of his voice so often disguised in the pop music he is known for. This is a MUST for your Christmas collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars One sure way to get into the Christmas Spirit!, January 22, 2004

This CD has quickly become my all time favorite Christmas CD. The songs are beautiful, but it is the heartfelt sincerity of Donny's voice that really captures the spirit of the season. I adore Angels We Have Heard on High, and Donny's interpretation gives the classic a fresh, beautiful sound that transcends the beauty of the standard arrangement.

His O Holy Night is no less than stunning and his poignant renditions of A Soldier's King and Mary, Did You Know? bring home the true meaning of the holiday.

The other songs are no less beautiful. Donny's sweet, clear voice communicates how deeply he believes these words he's singing. These are more than just Christmas themed songs. They're a joyful noise unto the Lord!

5.0 out of 5 stars My new No. 1 favorite Christmas album, December 15, 2003

This is such an enjoyable Christmas album, and Donny's voice is superb. It is definitely my new favorite Christmas CD. Osmond makes every song his own -- the arrangements are top-notch, the vocals inspired and the selections unique. "After December Slips Away"; "Baby, What You Goin' to Be" and "The Soldier's King" are new classics and a welcome change from the same old carols. An interesting note: the song "Come to the Manger" was co-written by Sen. Orrin Hatch! You will thoroughly enjoy this special Christmas CD.

5.0 out of 5 stars Christmas At Home, December 16, 2005

I love the new song "Christmas time" It's new romantic and sexy. Bravo, Donny!

As for "Christmas at Home. It's amazing. This is just one song as an example, I always noticed the special blending of voices in "Baby, What you Gonna Be". How interesting to find that Donny sang 34(?) tracks to this song and its Donny doing every part in the song. It's a masterpiece! ..."...The wise men who bow unto you"... the harmony and the melody are pure art. The song has so much depth musically, there are 3 vocal parts, maybe more, I hear each part and it's like listening "into" the song, you know what I mean? Kind of like looking into one of those odd picture where you look into the picture to find another picture, that's the real magic of the piece. Simply beautiful to listen to...

Another song he performs compelling me to comment, is "When December Slips Away", when the voices are in harmony and sound like bells.

For me each track on the CD is a listening pleasure. Donny's approach to all the classics are unique with snappy changes and harmonies to delight the senses.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Excellent Christmas Cd by Donny, January 11, 2005
By
This review is from: Christmas at Home (Audio CD)
I have the Christmas cd by the Osmonds. And to me it was the best until I heard Donny's Christmas cd and of course, Clay Aiken's Christmas album.

However, on to this album. There are many songs on this album that are not familiar to me but that didn't stop me from enjoying the songs. Each one is enjoyable to listen to as Donny's puts in his own renditions.

As some reviewers have mentioned, this album is eclectic in that the different songs found on this album can be categorised into different genres.

Donny's talent is timeless. He was excellent when he was in his teen and early adult life, he is excellent still.

Great cd! Great job Donny!

This is just about the most wonderful Christmas songs you will hear. The first time you hear it may put you off a little but play it again. Follow the words to the song on the inset provided. I guarantee you will love it!! Donnys voice is perfect and the arrangements are fantastic. I am a traditionalist when it comes to Christmas music but Donnys album changed my mind. At least his interpitations of these songs. I promise you you won't be disappointed. Please give it a chance.

5.0 out of 5 stars IT'S ONE OF THE BEST CHRISTMAS CD'S I HAVE HEARD., January 25, 1999
By
This review is from: Christmas at Home (Audio CD)
THE BEST SONG I LOVE ON THIS CD IS "SOLDIER KING". THE FIRST TIME I HEARD IT REMINDED ME OF WHY WE REALLY CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS. "O HOLY NIGHT" IS SO BEAUTIFUL. THE ARRANGEMENT ON THIS SONG IS OVERWHELMING. THE BEST PART OF THE SONG IS WHEN DONNY COMES IN AND SINGS {HE TAUGHT US TO LOVE ONE ANOTHER},I'VE NEVER HEARD IT ARRANGED LIKE THAT BEFORE. I REALLY LIKED HOW HE GOT HIS FAMILY TO SING PARTS ON ONE OF THE SONGS. I WAS ALSO FAVOURED BY "BABY" WITH DONNY SINGING ALL THE PARTS. ALL IN ALL THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST I HAVE HEARD!
