This review is from: Christology in Context: The Earliest Christian Response to Jesus (Paperback)
This is a marvelous book that sparkles like a diamond spied amongst the dirt. There are numerous books on Christology/ and or Jesus (either Jesus the sujbect of dogmatic inquiry or Jesus, the historical person). This is one of the remarkable books, sure to be missed, unless one comes across it accidentally. It is neither flashy nor glitzy--it does not promise secret revelations of who Jesus is or might be. The author slowly suggests a reading of what each of the authors of the New Testmant materials thought about Jesus. Then he seeks to draw his reading of the various authors together into a coherent picture. I recommend this book highly--it is one of the solid books covering "the Historical Jesus" on the market today. Read it and learn...
