This review is from: Christopher Gadsden and Henry Laurens: The Parallel Lives of Two American Patriots (Hardcover)
"A study of the lives of Christopher Gadsden (1724-1805) [the "Sam Adams of the South"] and Henry Laurens (1724-1792) [a believer in the benevolence of the British government] is much more than a look at the contributions of two important, though largely neglected, heroes of the American Revolution. Indeed, in these two lives, one can trace the development of the Revolution in South Carolina. Either Gadsden or Laurens, sometimes both, figured prominently in every major development in South Carolina between 1760 and 1783."
Cloth over hardback boards with a sewn binding; dustjacket; 354 pp; end notes; a 12 p Bibliography. |
