5.0 out of 5 stars If you like short stories, here's your book
I'm extremely familiar with the author's work and I think these short stories are some of his best, riveled only by those he composed for the "Midnight Club." The first story, about a boy who thinks he's dreaming when he's really not, is demented and fun. The second, a sequel to his book "Master of Murder," is a neat twist on the first book. The...

3.0 out of 5 stars Hit and miss
I like Christopher Pike and I've read most of his books. One thing I've noticed is that his stories tend to be mind blowingly good or terrible. This book had one story I loved, the rest were disappointing.

The third, a compelling and thought provoking glimse of future life, left me in tears. The fourth is a wildly futuristic story that speaks about the implications of present actions and how they affect the future in the long run. The fifth is a wicked story of a boy who decides to murder his girl friend. Finally, the sixth is a parody on an experience the author actually had. Read the book! The stories are short, fun and easy to understand!!

5.0 out of 5 stars The ONLY must-have for Christopher Pike fans, June 17, 1998
By A Customer
A series of short stories is the basic idea here. But what makes it a need for Pike fans is the commentary. Christopher Pike FINALLY reveals pieces of his life to us before each short story. He even answers the most common question: "Mr. Pike, where do you get your ideas from?" Go for it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Humor. Horror. Everything melted for Teens. One Helluva book, March 30, 1999
By A Customer
THer is this one story about 4 teenagers from 20,000 in the future when they decide to visit present day humans of the 20th century. They are named 11, 33, 66, 99 and come into bodies of 4 teenagers. It talkes in teen language, like "getting laid" and "she got screwed" and "did you wear a condom" ...I can't describe in words, they are too funny to do so. It has a huge amount of humor in this story and its hard not to laugh. Along with this story is a whole lot of other interesting things too good to put down. I ain't kiddin' ya one whole bit.

5.0 out of 5 stars This was such an incredible book! You have to read it!, May 22, 1999
By A Customer
This is a great book. There are several short stories so you won't get fed up with one story plot, and "The Fan from Hell" is amazing! It isn't terrifying, exactly, but it really made me think. This is C.Pike's best book!

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVED FAN FROM HELL, August 1, 2002
By
Fan From Hell was an amazing short story that was a semi-sequel to Master of Murder. Marvin, a yung H/S student/writer is talked into terrible lies from a woman who claims to be his #1 fan. She soon seduces him. She later black mails him by saying he, Marvin raped her & beat her. Even though it was her who hit herself & she did allow Marvin to "make love" with her. She negousates by telling Marvin to basicially write a story for her that she'd started, but couldn't complete. She tries to trick Marvin with his on plots, but she makes a mistake, never interfer with a writer & his work.{hehehe} She'll try to get rid of Marvin, but who'll survive? Pike leads the reader in many twists & turns & even though Pike insists Marvin isn't suppose to be based on him, i still think a portion of Marvin has Pike's brilliance & personality. I hope he'll have another story involving Marvin & his writings. He's my favortie YA writer of all time!so far at least...?

5.0 out of 5 stars Great and statisfying for a collection of short stories., June 29, 1998
By A Customer
First I'd like to say that they got this book's description mixed up with Tales of Terror 2. This book was perfect, not his best, but perfect. I love all of Mr. Pike's books, he writes in such an interesting style. But all his stories in this book have amazing details for something so short. But that is one reason all of his books are wonderful. I loved it!
