5.0 out of 5 stars Classic!!!
This album is such a classic one...from start to finish Sleep not only tears up the mic with elogance, he does it over the the tighest beats the underground has to offer and with the great lyricist to compliment....Sleep is one of the awesome hip hop artists emerging from the pacific northwest. 5.0 out of 5 stars Classic!!!, August 12, 2005

This album is such a classic one...from start to finish Sleep not only tears up the mic with elogance, he does it over the the tighest beats the underground has to offer and with the great lyricist to compliment....Sleep is one of the awesome hip hop artists emerging from the pacific northwest. Those in the know, should know OLDOMINION.... an enormous collective of Rappers, Producers, and DJs. These cats have skills and have been putting it down in the gloomy northwest for a while now.
Oldominion is the crew of the future...just wait....If you thought the Hieroglyphics Crew were innovative, you have no idea...

Sleep album is worth everything you bought it for. This guys is the real deal. He can also be found on his debut solo album, Riot by Candlelight ("darker" and much different from his second album, Christopher), and the Oldominion crew's two releases, One, and negative one and a half.

He teamed up with fellow Oldominion crewmate, Onry Ozzborn,on an album called: Auroura: s7n7n days. That album was amazingly created in seven days and is about the two rappers experiences growing up in New Mexico. Sleep has also collaborated with the canadian rapper, Josh Martinez, to create ... The Chicharones, the superduo of tommorrow!! Thier debut album called When Pigs Fly is dropping on August 22nd in the states and is hailed as a slice of fried gold. Dedicated heads know about the Chicharones thanks to thier two teaser albums, Pork Rind Circus, and Boss Hogs.

Porduction on Christopher is wonderfully done by Pale Soul (oldominion), Smoke and Zebulan Dak(oldominion), Maker(Galapagos 4), and Vitamin D.

Christopher features awesome vocals by toni hill(siren's echo) and yasidra brown. It also feature great ryhmes by Abstract rude, Zelly Rock, Josh Martinez, and a great song with Masta Ace.

This Album is so wonderful.....why do you think i took the time to write such an informative review? I think that speaks for itself....

5.0 out of 5 stars Don't SLEEP, June 10, 2005
This review is from: Christopher (Audio CD)
I can't say I've always been a fan of Oldominion. Only recently after buying Grayskul's Deadliver did their music open my ears. I can't say enough about Sleep as an artist. He covers a lot of ground on this effort, the production absolutely kills what was brought out for Riot by Candlelight and Sleep actually has multiple verses on every song, what more could you want?? If you're reading this and know what Sleep is capable of, then I won't have to tell you how ridiculous this guy can flow. He can change it to go with anything, much like Gift of Gab, but he sounds nothing like him, he has his own voice and his own style. With 'Christopher' you get the great work on the boards, the unbelieveable talent on the mic, and you get to learn a lot about Sleep and the child that was. There are too many good tracks to really pick my favorites, but I'd probably have to go with "Say Goodbye" or "Make yourself get up", these tracks are quite tasty to say the least. Since Amazon doesn't have the track listing I figured I'd give it to you guys instead, so here it is:

1. Intro
2. Say Goodbye feat. Zelly Rock
3. Fall Guy
4. I'm So Techno (Skit) feat. Pale Soul
5. Make Yourself Get Up
6. Testimony
7. So Tired
8. Bucket
9. Can't Be Touched feat. Abstract Rude
10. Live
11. Guys Like Me feat. Josh Martinez
12. Never feat. Tony Hill
13. The Heat feat. Masta Ace
14. Dirt
15. Dirt Interlude
16. Love It To Death feat. Yadira Brown

Don't make the mistake of overlooking this album. Sleep is just too ill to deny, he's got the voice, the flow, the content to be an underground legend if you don't already consider him one....

5.0 out of 5 stars Christopher is amazing, June 7, 2005
This review is from: Christopher (Audio CD)
This album is unbelievable. Solid from start to finish. The production is outstanding and Sleep kills it on every single track. Along with Grayskul's "Deadlivers" these are two of Oldominion's best efforts and worth every penny.

5.0 out of 5 stars Reminds me of a Brooklyn indie hip hop band called Misnomer(S), May 12, 2009
I stumbled upon Sleep's music when I created a Pandora station for the Misnomer(S). I wish he were local to NY, or would tour in this area so I could see him perform live. My favorite songs from "Christopher" are "Testimony," "Say Goodnight," and "Dirt." I think they're fantastic and often play them when I teach Spin (cycling) classes. Several times the Spin class participants have asked me who the artist is when I play those songs.

5.0 out of 5 stars Now this one came out of no where...borderline genius., September 29, 2005
This review is from: Christopher (Audio CD)
Sleep of Oldominion is exactly what mainsteam music isn't: innovative. Sleep has lyrical delivery that competes with the presence of Eminem, and makes cry-baby "EMO" rappers look like the spoiled children they are with a humble, fun-loving approach to music. Sleep's album "Christopher" can not be categorized, which will be the challenge of this indie album. It's too hip-hop for Atmosphere fans, to brainy for Eminem mainstream audiences, but musically and lyrically entertaining for all who appreciate well-written sonically moving music.

This record may not sell large amounts off the top, but will surely make an impact for future generations...borderline genius.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good album, November 5, 2005

I didn't know who the hell this guy was when I saw this @ my local record store, but I knew he was in the Oldominion crew, and after bumping Greyskul's last album all summer I thought I'd check this out, plus I noticed it had Masta Ace on it and that's always a plus. Well I have to admit I didn't really care for this album much at first. The beats range from irritating to stellar, and this cat raps so fast on certain cuts that it's nearly impossible to distinguish what he's saying, I guess it's impressive, but those are the tracks I've been skipping since I picked this up last month. #5 is by far the best song on the whole disc, real positive well flowed lyrics over a moving beat that goes real hard. The Masta Ace track was a little dissapointing, but by no means garbage. I'd recomend this CD, it's nothing classic, but well worth peeping out.
