Calls only cover a small selection of the initial basic movements as set down by Callerlab that a beginner must learn to become a qualified Basic Square Dancer. Will help a beginner initially. Music and calls could be used at parties where persons attenting have little or no square dance training since movements to calls could be taught and learnt quickly.

This is a great CD. There's a good variety of music - some songs on the traditional side and some contemporary music for my kids. The caller is really clear so you can understand the calls and learn the steps. I think this is a great CD for all ages. Let's face it - "Hoedown" music can get OLD really fast. I like that it has fun music!! Highly recommended.

I just received the CD. I am a beginner and the calls are fast, but audible. What I don't like is the music which is more like bad synthsized disco than "swing your partner" type. I wouldn't waste your money on this CD, especially since its higher priced than some of the others.

As a dance teacher, I found this an excellent teaching tool. The music is great for the young adults I teach. They think it is fun and are able to quickly learn the calls and feel successful. With this music, they walk away with a favorable impression of square dancing which will help the popularity of this dance form.

I agree with the previous review, this was very disappointing. I expected Country Ho-Down music but this is modern disco music. You can't use this to Barn Dance! Save your money.
