I own a dozen of these towels and they are quite possibly the best towels available on the American market. The colors might not match the computer screen but if you would calibrate you monitor and then have accurate color to view you will find the oolors very accurate. Over a period of four years I have never had any problem with Christy towels. The threads have never come off on my skin as I wash them thouroughly before using. The one comparable towels to this are Des Camps towels but try using these for four years and you will have threadbare towels, many with holes and certainly all ready for replacement. The Christy towels seem to never loose strenth or thickness and also get softer with more washings. Absorbancy is better than any other towel on the market.

I would recommend this towel to anyone who wants a reasonably priced higher end towel. I have also ordered the bath towels and bath mats. The color is gorgeous and stays soft after washing. Don't have to worry about the towel "coming off on you" after a shower.

Not very absorbent...,

I was very excited when I ordered these towels, but I must say I've been disappointed. When I washed them before using them, a LOT of lint came off in both the washer and dryer, and they're still shedding lint. In addition, they're neither as soft nor as absorbent as much cheaper towels you can get from Target or Kmart. In contrast, we also got the Eloquence towels, and I have been THRILLED with them - very absorbent, and very soft.

I bought these towels solely based on the customer reviews. These towels are very soft and absorbent but unfortunately, it leaves your skin the color of the towel, antique blue in my case, because it leaves it's fibers all over you. I washed my towels first before using them but it still happened. I hope I don't have to put them through too many more washes for this to cease.

We received these towels as a wedding gift and we love them. We have the parchment color. We haven't had any problem with material from the towels coming off, in fact these are the only towels I have used that this has not happened with. They get more soft and absorbent with each washing as well. I recommend highly them.

Wonderful towels - excellent quality,

I've had a complete set of these towels since I got married in 1999 - over 7 years now - they are WONDERFUL. A few reviewers complain of the lint but I've noticed every towel I've ever had has a lot of lint for quite a while when they are new, so that is not such a big issue. It's easier to deal with on white towels than colored. Deep colors are the worst. Also,as one reviewer notes, these towels are not heavy, but that is WHY I find them preferable ....many towels are difficult to use because they are so heavy and often they are so dense they are not as absorbent. But these towels are lighter yet still very fluffy, absorbent, and luxurious so they are still easy to handle. they are so luxurious, you feel like you are getting the spa treatment everytime you use them! I guess that's why they are the towels preferred by the Queen of England! These are still fluffy and lovely even after many many washes over 7 years - for the longest time you couldn't get these very many places. We rec'd them as a wedding gift from a friend who owned a very exclusive gift shop and I kept looking for more on-line and only lately have been able to find them - I will definitely replace them with MORE Christy towels - and probably this same line, the Rennaissance, Egyptian cotton. I might also add, if you have arthritis these are excellent. My Grandmother has quite a bit of arthritis in her hands, and she prefers to use lighter weight towels and washcloths - these are perfect. You will have a lighter weight towel but you won't have to sacrifice quality or luxury.

I received these towels in Danube at Christmas. They are very thick and super luxurious. The color is deep and gorgeous! They do shed lots, so wash at least two times before use. I'm puzzled by reviewers' comments that they aren't absorbent; I found them to be fine. Remember not to use fabric softener on them because it does decrease absorbancy.

Not very durable,

These are pretty and reasonably soft, but not at all durable. After only a wash or two the edges were already becoming frayed. I have to say I'm disappointed, especially given the price.

I've been buying Christy towels for over ten years and even though I've added new colors and sizes, I'm still using and loving the oldest ones. I would not buy any other brand.

I have owned these towels for a couple of years and they are the thickest and softest towels I have ever owned. They do need to be washed a few times before use to get all the excess cotton pieces off the towels. They wear better than any other towels I have ever owned and do not fade as so many others do. The only comparable towels I have owned are made by Des Camps in France. These, however, start out soft, though not so thick. The des camps towels unfortunately went to absolute shreds after about 6 months. I would recommend the Christy towels to anyone for any type use.
