A long overdue kitchen remodeling gave me the opportunity to get rid of the builder-installed half-moon, lazy susan corner shelving. While I was always able to load the shelves on these units, I could never keep things organized and felt the shape "robbed" me of necessary storage space. Research into available options led me to the Rev-a-Shelf Blind Corner Cabinet Optimizer; since none were available locally, I ordered these sight unseen.

The Rev-a-Shelf Blind Corner Cabinet Optimizers are extremely well made and very attractive. The instructions were not particularly clear, but any handy spouse or professional builder/remodeler should have no problem with installation. The difficult part of the installation process is simply that one is working in a confined space.

The Rev-A-Shelf Blind Corner Cabinet Optimizer units glide smoothly; but, be sure the first pullout "catches" before attempting to slide the second tier of baskets into place and then pulling those out of your cabinet. The baskets are approximately 16" X 11" X 3 1/2"; there is 7 1/2" from the bottom of the top basket to the top of the lower cabinet in a standard kitchen unit. There is approximately 7" of opening from the top edge of the lower basket to the bottom of the upper basket. The center posts take about 2 1/2" of space; in my corner units, there is 18" of unused space after the unit ends.

I very much like that the Rev-A-Shelf Blind Corner Cabinet Optimizer requires that I keep my items neatly organized in order to fit them into the unit. However, I am not pleased with the amount of actual storage I lost when I compare these to the blind corner lazy susans. Large or tall items had to be moved to other cabinets. Further, I could have installed 36" corner lazy susans and had significantly more storage space. I am giving the Rev-A-Shelf Blind Corner Optimizer 4 stars because of the quality of construction; however, were I to rate these on storage capacity, I would give them only 3 stars. Had I seen these or found any reviews prior to purchasing them, I would have gotten a high quality half-moon, corner lazy susan instead.
