Good looking product which does what it is supposed to. Spring loaded cap holds pressure well. Easy to get on and off every bottle I've tried it on.

I love this little gadget. It has this little build in spring between the rubber disk and the hinge on the little arms that makes it possible for it to seal bottles from different brands, something not possible with the last champagne stopped I used.

held carbonation for 16 months!,
This review is from: Chrome Plated Champagne Bottle Saver Stopper
We put an opened champagne bottle in the fridge on New Year's Day 2009, using this stopper. It got forgotten until Easter morning 2010, when we opened it to find full carbonation and good fresh flavor. 16 months later! Surprisingly effective and we just bought two more.

An extremely elegant solution,

On the rare occasion that the two of us can't finish a bottle of sparkling wine, this bottle stopper/saver comes to the rescue, providing an elegant solution to an unfortunate problem. The first thing I noticed about the product is how attractive and well-made it looks. The device is made up of a "cap" with two side flaps, each of which is connected to the cap with hinges. If you turn the device over, you see a stopper inside the cap; this stopper is spring-loaded, and when pressure is applied, the stopper goes up into the cap. To use it, you place the device on an open sparkling wine bottle and press down. The top of the bottle gets swallowed by the device as the springs press the stopper against the bottle opening, sealing it with the spring-loaded pressure. To lock it into place, you simply fold down the hinge-mounted flaps, which lock onto the lower lip of the sparkling wine bottle. So simple, yet so ingenious!
I've had nothing but positive results when using this device. As described in the name of this product, this is designed to preserve **sparkling wine**, so obviously it won't work (at least not well) on regular wine, soda bottles, or anything else that isn't shaped like a sparkling wine bottle. I've tried it on about 6 different bottles so far (including Cava, Prosecco, and American sparkling wines), and it has fit and worked perfectly on all of them. If you have a bottle of sparkling wine that is dramatically different from the traditional sparkling wine bottle shape, there's a good chance this won't work. Remember that this stopper works based on the shape of the bottle, not the fact that it's sparkling wine. The longest I've left this on an open bottle has been 5 days. As soon as I poured the first glasses from the new bottle, I sealed it with this and refrigerated the bottle. After 5 days of storage, the sparkling wine was pretty darn close to when it was opened, though obviously a little less effervescent. I can't report on how well this may store sparkling wines after 5 days, but you really shouldn't be storing it any longer than that. Remember that this product helps keep the wine from going "flat," but it doesn't do anything to slow down oxidation, the process that begins breaking down the taste and quality of wine as soon as it's opened. So think of this as an extension of a few days, not a long-term solution, and drink your leftover wine while it's still at its peak, no longer than 3-5 days!

Product works great. Poured a glass of champagne, immediately put the stopper on it and reopened the bottle a week later with a good amount of fizz. Stays sealed and is VERY easy to secure.

This Champagne stopper works pretty well, and is not all that complicated. It fits over most standard cork top bottles, and seals the bottle well. It has a rubber/teflon gasket and is spring loaded. The stopper is held in place by the 2 metal latches on the side. The latches do not fit all wine and champagne bottles, but does fit on top of most of the standard bottles that we've run across so far.

We used this on a few bottles of wine over the past 3 months. It did a great job of preserving sparkling wine on the few bottles we had a chance to use it on. Yesterday, the inside part completely fell apart when we took it off the bottle. It's now past amazon's return policy. Our last stopper was Metrokane Velvet Champagne and Wine Sealer. It lasted for years & when it died, we thought we would try something different. We are going back to Metrokane.

Works great for keeping it bubbly,

If you like Champagne/sparkling wine, but can't always drink a whole bottle, this works great to keep it bubbly for at least a day. No, the wine won't be quite as "fresh", but it will be nearly as bubbly and flavorful. Pull it out as soon as you open the bottle and put it on after you're done pouring the first round. Keeps the bubbles flowing all night!

Easier to use than it looks and it WORKS!,

This device is simpler than it looks. You just clasp the entire thing around the neck of the bottle with one fist and push down. The "wings" grab the flange around the bottle top securely and almost automatically, keeping constant pressure on the soft stopper against the bottle spout. Couldn't be easier, and when we tried it on champagne, we had a "pop" each time we released the stopper.
