Well, I played the first Chrome and beat it, and then obtained a copy of SpecForce. I had read online that this game was not that great and etc, but I found it to be the opposite. The engine received some minor tweaks from Chrome 1 and it shows. The AI is about the same, and the levels are about the same. The outdoor levels are absolutely spectacular and large, and again, the indoor levels are kind of bland. There are a few more vehicles to be had and the boss fights are INSANE in this game. I speak from playing on the highest difficulty only of course :p I really enjoyed this game, much better than the first Chrome even (though its just an expansion). I am very earnest to see how Chrome 2 comes out. Something about 200+ weapons just fascinates me.

I found this to be kind of like a stand-alone expansion pack of Chrome. I think the weapons and vehicles were basically similar, but the suit powers were different. Specforce doesn't give you the capacity to see through doors, instead giving you a slow motion capability (which I didn't find very useful). Also there was a repeating assault rifle that shot the larger 14mm ammo. I don't think the original game had that.

Everything else was easily identifiable as being very similar to the original Chrome. I liked Chrome, so the fact that this Specforce is more of the same is a plus as far as I'm concerned. I think it was about the same length as Chrome, too. Given the much newer release, I'm a little surprised the graphics were dramatically improved, but it's still every bit as much fun to play as the original.

Being an older game, it is readily available new for less than $20, so don't get sucked into paying $50+ for it.

Hard to find game. Found it, bought it, and loved it! I played the first one and had to find the second one.
