A superb self-efficacy tool,
By Miryam E. Williamson (Western Massachusetts, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Chronic Illness Workbook: Strategies and Solutions for Taking Back Your Life (Paperback)
Fennell's book certainly lives up to its subtitle: Strategies and Solutions for Taking Back Your Life. I recommend it to people I counsel who are newly diagnosed with fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, or diabetes. The book is written in a language accessible to lay readers, yet sufficiently well-researched to appeal to professionals and patient educators. I am particularly impressed with the way it acknowledges that chronic illness occurs in a social environment, its effect extending beyond the individual. I've applied some of its precepts and suggestions in my own life. The Chronic Illness Workbook is an excellent investment in enhancing the quality of your own life, or that of someone you care about.

The book is everything I expected it to be. It is very readable and do able. The author has presented the material in a way that it helps you work through the issues that arise from having a chronic illness.
Even if you can only read 10 minutes at a time, the formula she offers carries so much hope and explanations, it supports you on your journey. I would recommend this book highly. |
