Confessions Of A Half-Baked (But Highly Paid) Internet Marketer

How would you like to:

  • Embrace your laziness
  • Build an automated business
  • Change rules in your favor
  • Smash your alarm clock
  • Forget your fears and flaws
  • Enjoy the chronic lifestyle
  • Earn the envy of your peers
  • Have fun every day

I remember once speaking to a man who was frustrated with his status. He was upset and explained to me how he had worked hard in school, gone to college to get a degree and paid his dues in the corporate world, however, today he is working in a startup for a high school dropout CEO.

Sympathizing with this man I told him my story. I too had worked hard, and paid my dues. After dropping out of high school I worked for various companies learning what I liked and didn't like about business. I then worked really hard to build my own business and now I have college graduates working for me.

This is a book about building your own future. Whether you enjoy a little weed now and then or not, you will learn how I built my business online, giving me over 5000 mornings without an alarm clock, bosses, investors or crappy clients.

My business makes me money regardless of my personal schedule. I can go to the spa, play Call Of Duty, read, or eat brownies and pass out. Every time I check my accounts there is more money.

It wasn't easy for me to get here. Which is why I wrote this book, to hopefully make it easier for you.

More About the Author

Brad Gosse is a self-taught marketer with 15 years of online marketing experience. After dropping out of high school, he started on his path to success launching his first website, an adult entertainment website, in 1997. He worked in the online adult entertainment industry for over 10 years and was on the cutting edge of many of the technologies that we now take for granted such as streaming video and online chat. He held the number two Google search engine result position for the word "porn" for 18 months straight.

In 2007, he made the switch to more "mainstream" marketing and now sells over 300 intangible marketing products which are all run by employees and automated systems, leaving him time to pursue new business ventures and develop new products.

He started his speaking career in 2010 and has since addressed crowds at WordCamp Toronto, conferences in the adult entertainment industry such as XBIZ LA, the adult entertainment industry's leading digital media trade event and The Underground Online Seminar, an internet marketing conference held yearly in Washington D.C.

Brad's home is on 10 acres of land in Ontario, Canada, which he shares with his vegan cookbook author wife Claire and their four dogs and three cats. Brad, a practicing vegan and animal lover, enjoys all the "manly" pursuits: sports cars, video games, weed and the occasional manicure and pedicure.

2.0 out of 5 stars Entertaining? Yes! Useful? NO! June 6, 2012

This was an entertaining book as he did give some colorful descriptions of what an entrepreneur is not.He even gave a good advice on who to keep in your inner circle and getting paid upfront which was also good advice. But,rants on the faster approach to Wealth comes faster from the school of hard knocks and the screw school section was a dull diatribe backed up by some rehash from other blog posts I've read elsewhere. This book reminded me of Larry Winget books I've read in the EXACT same style.

I've always run my business in a manner that makes it fun for me. After all, if you're not having fun, you may as well be working for someone else. Brad Gosse and I seem to share a lot of business philosophies.

Warning: If you're uptight and narrow-minded, you may be turned off by the numerous references to the porn industry and marijuana smoking. If so, you'll miss out on some great business principles. After all, you don't have to get high to be successful, but you should style your business in such a way that you can enjoy it.

One takeaway from this book: "If you suffer from a lack of focus in business, you aren't hungry enough." So true, and I've seen so many fail because they didn't have this. In fact, all of Chapter 20 is well worth the price of entry. The rest of the book just makes this a book you'll want to read and then return to repeatedly.

2.0 out of 5 stars Chronic Marketer or Pothead? June 27, 2012
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
First off, I like the way the book was written and the style but the content
left a lot to be desired in the way of meaty actionable content for someone
who's been in internet marketing(IM) for awhile.

However, if you become a student of the way he does his marketing, then
you'll learn not only learn something valuable, you'll see a master of marketing
at work, it's just that I hate reading between the lines.

I did put it down about 3/4 of the way through it and felt like I was getting
nowhere with it but maybe I missed the big crescendo at the end?

It's worth previewing if you can and if you like what you see, then it's for you.
Yes, it's worth the dollars but dig deep into the thought process for meat.
