Format: Paperback
When Stephen Colameco, MD, M.Ed., FASAM sent me his book "Chronic Pain: A Way Out," and asked for my comments I wasn't sure what to expect. As I opened the book and read through the index I knew this was something different--and much needed. Dr. Colameco was able to blend his expertise and experience in helping people living with chronic pain and deliver it in a very interesting and strategic manner.

Dr. Colameco did an excellent job of explaining the 12-Step approach to chronic pain management and how to utilize the principles of using the 12-Steps in an easy to understand and implement way. I believe that "Chronic Pain: A Way Out" is an excellent resource not only for people living with chronic pain but also for their family and friends. I am recommending it for some of my pain patients who are also using the 12-Steps for other problems in their lives and know that they will greatly benefit for this fabulous resource.

Dr. Stephen F. Grinstead, LMFT, ACRPS, CADC-II

This book was so helpful. Dr. Colameco writes with compassion and understanding. I appreciate the way he outlined the nature of chronic pain and various ways it's typically treated. I found the Action Steps particularly useful -- clearly stated and easy to follow steps to move toward recovery. Reading this book helped me understand how chronic pain spirals out of control, and that there are solutions, if not "cures". Thank you for helping me start to get my life back!
