4.0 out of 5 stars A fun read

I bought The Chronicles of Anaedor: The Prophecies knowing very little about the book. As a middle school teacher I read quite a bit of young adult fiction and fantasy. The Chronicles of Anaedor: The Prophecies is a great addition to my personal and classroom libraries.

3.0 out of 5 stars Well written and fun-RATED 5 STARS NOT THREE
I found the Chronicles of Anaedor a well writen book for young adults. The main character, Lavida Mors, is delightful if a bit of a handful. I liked her determination to find answers to her questions and curiousity delightful. And her adventures in the "undeworld" exciting. I highly recommend this book as a gift, after you have read it yourself! ** I RATED THE BOOK...

This review is from: The Chronicles of Anaedor - The Prophecies - A Novel (Paperback)

I bought The Chronicles of Anaedor: The Prophecies knowing very little about the book. As a middle school teacher I read quite a bit of young adult fiction and fantasy. The Chronicles of Anaedor: The Prophecies is a great addition to my personal and classroom libraries.
Lavida Mors is sent to her father's childhood home, a mansion that he refuses to return to, in order to attend a private school. Not long after her arrival, Lavida discovers the quirky and sometimes scary world behind the walls of the mansion.
I enjoyed reading about Lavida's adventures and discovering along with her what her role in Anaedor is to be. Kristina Schram has crafted a great story full of humor, fantasy, and perhaps a budding romance or two.
I look forward to the next books in this series and recommend this book.

This review is from: The Chronicles of Anaedor - The Prophecies - A Novel (Paperback)
The Chronicles of Anaedor - the Prophecies - is a wonderful new addition to the world of fantasy literature. The mythical creatures - from the nasty Malvado to Barg the giant Eenie-Meenie - will enthrall young readers and adults alike. It has been a long time since I've enjoyed an adventure as much as I have enjoyed this one!

The story is about a teenage girl who is sent away to a private school by her father and has to live in an unusual house. This book is geared more towards young adults and reads like a quirky Chronicles of Narnia or Harry Potter given that the main character discovers a hidden world filled with creatures and magic.

This book was so much fun to read! Are there going to be more? I really liked the characters, both human and non-human. Weird and entertaining. The concept is pretty unique, too. I thought the author was really funny and I hope she keeps writing...I'm pretty sure from the way she ended the book that there will be more in the series. Yeah! I would definitely recommend this book, especially if you like fantasy, humor and adventure!

5.0 out of 5 stars A New Fantasy Author To Watch For!, October 14, 2007
This review is from: The Chronicles of Anaedor - The Prophecies - A Novel (Paperback)
The Chronicles of Anaedor: The Prophecies from what I gather is the first book in a series of four. I have to say that I look forward to finding out what happens to the main character, Lavida Mors (her name means something pretty cool, but I won't spoil it for you). She is not someone you'd think of when you think of a hero. She doesn't really want to be one, that is. But when she finds out that there is this world of creatures who think she is the One meant to come save them, she is given little choice. This first book gets her started on her adventure with the underground world of Anaedor. You'll meet Blendars (shape-shifters), Amorals (basically bounty hunters who can mind read), Eenie Meenies and an assortment of the usual mythical creatures. I like how the author takes the mythical world and puts it into the present time, making it appear as though it really could exist today. Great read, with lots of adventure. Watch carefully...there are some interesting symbols, ideas, names that the author uses that have significance for this book and I'm sure for the later books.

5.0 out of 5 stars Highly recommended - a fantastic journey full of mystery and intrigue!, October 26, 2010
This review is from: The Chronicles of Anaedor - The Prophecies - A Novel (Paperback)
A standing ovation for Kristina Schram's new book The Chronicles of Anaedor: The Prophecies. Experience fantasy at its best as you journey along with the beguiling heroine (Lavida) and her comical sidekick Ms. Penny (a raccoon). Mystery and danger await her at spooky Portal Manor, where there are more than ghosts that go bump in the night! The vivid descriptions and creative characters all but leap off the page, as you lose yourself in the enchanting realm of Anaedor. Lavida's fears make her all that more real and endearing, yet she is able to overcome and triumph! Three thumbs up and that's one more than I have.

The Chronicles of Anaedor - The Prophecies. Is an enlightening novel that has the creative mind of the author that surpasses other Sci-Fi novels. I was delighted to read this novel as I am trying first hand to be a writer myself. I have found that this Kristina has a delightful imagination and the creativity is outstanding. I applaud this author's gift. May there be many more novels to come.
