If you are not familiar with Audiomachine, they are the folks that make movie trailers so epic! Their music is used in film advertising, and thus is not available to the public - until now! "Chronicles" is their first album available for purchase, and it's a compilation of all their best work to date. What makes their music special is that it's not just all about the intensity - there are always unique themes and a lot of drama within the compositions.

It's fun to see how many tracks you can place to film trailers. If you are a fan of "Avatar", you will no doubt notice that Tracks 01 & 03 were used in the trailer for that film.

My favorite is Track 08, titled "Breath and Life". You may recognize it from the trailer for "The Adjustment Bureau". It is a wonderful track, and one that I could listen to over and over again.

That's just the tip of the iceberg... almost every track has a unique quality about it. I have listened through this album several times and plan to do so many times over in the future. This album is highly recommended!

And if you are a fan of this type of music, check out my list of Epic Score music:

EDIT: Audiomachine now has two other albums available: Epica & Helios

Audiomachine's public-release album "Chronicles" offers a delightful range of music from the trailer-music genre. Most tracks retain a very clear feeling to be associated with them, whether it be "triumph," "suspense," "wonder," or another specific emotion. On the whole, I rate it positively, and encourage anyone interested in the genre to snap up this album immediately.

The orchestration and execution of the songs leaves nothing to be desired. My only reservations have to do with the length of the songs, which for the most part range from one to two minutes in length. Now, yes, it could be argued that all trailer music usually IS only this length or shorter, but I think it is important to remember that this is a public release, meant for the public to enjoy. If Audiomachine releases an album specifically to the public, then I would hope that they would be willing tweak some of their songs to feel more "full."

With that in mind, I know that the largest complaint I tend to hear is simply that the songs are too short, sometimes sounding like a sound-byte rather than a fleshed-out musical piece.

However, I must state again that the album is excellent. Don't let my small reservation keep you from purchasing this excellent compilation of music.

All of the musical pieces on this album make for a Great Listening Experience and are performed well. Most of the musical numbers sounds like they were created for action adventure movies or video games and in general are quite short. When I previewed this MP3 album, prior to purchase and download, there was no way to know how short some of the musical pieces were. This album would be a great test for a new stereo system or to pretend you are at a concert, but not one that I'll listen to very often.

This CD is amazing! It's awesome that all the incredible music we hear in movies has been compiled on this CD. I hope to hear more from this group in the future.

I have really dug Audiomachine's music in many trailers, found them on Youtube and checked Amazon to see if they had any albums for purchase. The good news is that they did and here I am! The bad news is they just have one album. But the other good news is that it is the size of two albums and only at the cost of one! Win!

Most of the music is very solid, well themed and crafted. I tend to like heavier dramatic music pieces and Chronicles delivers a good many. Some tracks are a little on the light side but still very nice quality overall. A few lesser tracks here and there seem a tad bit weak which usually might warrant 4/5 stars, but at such an incredible value if you buy the whole album any sane person could not hold that against them.

I really appreciate Audiomachine releasing their work for us to buy and enjoy especially at such an Epic Value. Thanks guys!

Wish more Epic Music makers would release their work for us to purchase. I love the Epic Music Genre and love buying and supporting those who do it.

Chronicles makes available the most epic tracks from Audiomachine, featured in many of the wonderful blockbuster theatrical advertising campaigns, to final consumers. Needless to say anymore.

The trailers for upcoming movies are often released months in advance of the premiere, long before the movie's score has been finished. An elite cadre of artist-companies writes the music for the mini-movies that trailers become, and Audiomachine is one of the leaders in the field--you've heard their work, whether you know it or not, in trailers for movies like "Avatar," "Snow White and the Huntsman," ""MIB3," "Prometheus" and many others.

Trailer music composers generally don't release all of their music on CD or MP3, as most of their work is licensed for use in movie trailer advertising. But from time to time, these artists will put out what amounts to a "greatest hits" album for their loyal fans. "Chronicles" is the first such release for Audiomachine, and it succeeds beyond expectations. The resulting collection of music is at once grand, epic, symphonic, orchestral, classical, uplifting and inspiring. I've found myself listening to "Chronicles" over and over again, both in may car (it makes great driving music, especially in grand landscapes) and on my iPod (inspiring to listen to as you gaze out an airplane window).

If I were asked to recommend an album for someone wanting to sample the best of the trailer music genre, I would say "start with 'Chronicles.'" And then I would say, if you liked that, try Illusions, The Best of Brand X Music, Reign of Vengeance,
