Wonderful book for all,

This review is from: The Chronicles of Narnia (Paperback)
I recently ready the "Chronicles if Narnia". As a child I had read "The Lion Witch and the Wardrobe" for school and remember it being a good story. After the movie came out it made me want to read the entire book. When I set out to do this I didn't know what to expect but what I found was a world where right and wrong, good and bad were explained using terms that we all could identify with. Ideas and thoughts that made sense for young and old. And most of all a captivating world where all these things take place. In a world where animals talk and there was good and bad. This is a book I will read again and someday read to my children as I feel that there are lessons to be learned by all in the writing of this childrens book!

The first time I heard this series I was in the 2nd grade, and my teacher Ms. Fiske was reading "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" to us. I was hooked from that time on. My parents finished reading me the series and it quickly became one of my favorite stories. Since that time I have read these stories numerous times, and they are as amazing as the first time that I heard them. I look forward to the time that my son will be old enough to enjoy them as I did (and still do). The movies follow the story pretty well, but there is just something about reading this book that the movie can never hope to mirror.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

I was very please with the condition of the books that I received. Also the vendor emailed me that she was a little late sending out the items. Most vendors will not email you, just send them at their leisure. I was very impressed that this occured, and will purchse from the same vendor in the future.

Magic Wonderland,

This review is from: The Chronicles of Narnia (Paperback)
This book is about a boy named Digory and his friend Polly. Digory lived with his uncle Andrew, his aunt, and his mother who was in bed with an illness. Polly was Digory's neighbor and she lived with her parents. One day when Digory was over at Polly's, they went through this tunnel that they believed went up through the attic of every house in London. As they were walking through it they discovered a door. As they opened the door they found themselves inside of a room, and Digory recognized it as his house. They also found that Uncle Andrew was in there also. Polly wasn't paying much attention to Uncle Andrew because there were these beautiful rings right next to him on the side table. When Uncle Andrew noticed she was looking at them he told her she could have one. When Polly touched the ring she disappeared and Digory demanded to know what happened to her. Finally Uncle Andrew told Digory that the ring was a magic one and that he transported Polly into another world and that the only way she could come back is if he, digory, would go in and save her. So digory was also transported, but once he got to the new world he saw a big forest full of trees and on the ground was small ponds as far he could see. Digory found Polly and they jumped into one of the pools to see what would happen. They again found themselves into another world. From there they awaken a white witch, and discover Narnia.
If you read this book you can find out what Narnia is and what they will do when the existences of Narnia is in worldly hands. Things I liked about this book were how much detail there was in the writing. Some things I didn't like were how it lacked in adventure and excitement, but other than that it was really good. I would recommend boys and girls to read this book. Also if the person likes fantasies and long series. |
