Totally addictive game!!,

This review is from: The Chronicles of Narnia The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe (Video Game)
My kids got this as an early Christmas present and we have playing with it eversince. We loved "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe" movie and book and it only made sense to get the gameboy game as well.
I picked up this game when my kids weren't playing with it and got totally addicted. It was hard to put down and I enjoyed the gameplay since it reminded me of the "LOTR: The Two Towers" and "LOTR: The Return of the King" games by Electronic Arts. The games are very similar in that the gameplay follows the general plot of the film, pick up items that they can use to help them advance in the game, and earn new powers ("nobilities") along the way. Characters have their own strengths - Peter hits with a stick and Edmund punches enemies (though they are given swords once they meet up with Father Christmas and Aslan respectively), Susan throws snowballs (and uses a bow and arrow later) and Lucy kicks (and uses the small dagger and 'heals' other creatures later on). Pluses: - The characters get to wander around and explore various locations (e.g. snow-covered woods, the White Witch's dungeons, burrows and mountains). You're not limited to a side-strolling game, for instance. - You get to play as each of the kids (you start as Lucy then end as Peter) depending on where you are in the stage of the game. For instance, you start as Lucy when she enters the wardrobe and meets Mr. Tumnus, then ends as Peter as you battle the White Witch. When you are not playing with the other kids, they still tag along follow you and help you fight enemies. Sometimes the kids are split up depending on the part of the story (e.g. Edmund travels alone to the White Witch's castle. Lucy and Susan accompany Aslan to the White Witch's castle to rescue other creatures. Peter, Susan and Lucy are on their own for most of the middle until they reconcile with Edmund). - You can collect items to help you progress along the game (e.g. sandwiches, cookies, toast to eat and increase your 'life.' Tea to drink or matches to light fires to keep you warm.'). If your body temperature drops, it hurts you. You have to keep track of your 'life' and 'body temperature.' - The gameplay is fairly easy which works great for younger players. It easier to beat enemies than in the LOTR game, for instance. Chapter 12 (as you try to beat the clock) and 17 (as you try to beat the White Witch) are the toughest to get through. There are 17 levels ('chapters') so it took me a few days of on and off playing to beat the game. - It does an excellent job of following the story line of the film. Everyone from Mr. Tumnus, Prof. Kirke, Aslan, the centaurs, various animals, Mr. and Mrs. Beaver, etc. make an appearance or help out the characters. Enemies include dwarves, wolves, trolls, giants, minotaurs, goblins, etc. - The player can earn 'nobilities' (special powers) which help advance in the game. The Pevensie children have to help out certain creatures in order to earn these 'nobilities' (which includes the ability to lift heavy objects, jump across, call on other creatures for help, etc). - The player can help find some of Mr. Tumnus' belongings, which is another LOTR similarity (where you collect artifacts). Minuses: - You can't pick your character (like you do in LOTR games) which is a minor downside. You basically switch between the 4 kids as predetermined by the game. - The gameplay is fairly easy. This could be a downside for those who are looking for a 'tough' game. It is easy (in my opinion) to defeat enemies. If you loved the "Narnia" film or are a Narnia fan, then this game is a must have. I enjoyed playing it and my kids love it, too. Of all the recent games that they have received, this is the one that gets the most play time. I found it totally addicting and enjoyable and, as a Narnia fan, I just loved the similarities with the book/film. I highly recommend it to players 6 and older (it definitely helps if the player can read).

This is my absolute favorite game! My parents got it for me for Christmas and I was hooked! I've finished the game twice, almost three times now. Chapter 12 is really hard, and in Chapter 17 to defeat the Witch wait till she leans over, then do a Unified Face. Aslan will then come and (my friend says) bite her head off. It's not fair though, that Peter is the leader in eight of the chapters and Susan, Edmund, and Lucy only get to be the leader in three. I love this game!!!! :)

The Chronicles of Narnia is a great game with both action and puzzles. As the four Pevensie children you must wander around narnia fighting the white witche's army and and earn health by destroying ice statues or earning them from characters as you do tasks or chores for them. This game also has great graphics.
Overall I highly reccomend this game. 2115|R1RF3UG7ZWVB1D;2115|R3D2FN6Y2I6TPH;2115|R23TIF0BS0LPIK;
