About the Author

B.T. Robertson was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1977 and still calls the Steel City home. His passion for fantasy began with his infatuation with video games when he was still a youngster. Unlike many writers of fantasy, B.T. wasn’t handed a copy of Lord of the Rings or The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien. Instead, games like SquareSoft’s Final Fantasy, Chrono Trigger, and Secret of Mana shaped his love for fantastic worlds, colorful characters, and epic stories. Introduced to fantasy novels as a teenager, his first adventure was The Sum of All Men, book one of David Farland’s best-selling series, The Runelords.

I read Part Zero and Part One: Alliances of this Trilogy about a year and a half ago and was instantly hooked. I was concerned with the length of time between reading Part One and the release of Part Final: Alignment, but there was no need to be. As soon as I started Part Final I was instantly sucked right back in, as if being sucked through one of the Planar portals themselves. On Vaaluna once again with Aerinas and his clan of elves, wizards and giants, I easily got caught up in their emotions, their fears, their defeats and victories. BT does an excellent job of reminding us who each character is and what their place is in the story. It is hard to go into any great detail without giving away some important events. But know that the characters have all grown, shaped by their individual fates and inner demons, into something so dynamic. The cover art is outstanding. The artist has captured the exact essence of this monstrous creature. As BT introduces us to this creature it is as if the cover springs to life. The ending did make me sad though. I would have loved for all of the characters to live happily ever after, but this is not a Fairy Tale story. The ending for each character was appropriate and any thing different definitely would have taken away from the story. The ending was explosive, emotional and brought out the answers to so many questions. It was so different than anything I had imagined. BT has merely scratched the surface of his talent in my opinion and has a long writing career ahead of him. I for one will be first in line when his next book graces the bookshelves.
