4.0 out of 5 stars Fun and Nuns.... Cool
I think that Chrono has the potential to be a very good action/comedy. Though the action is great and there are some very dramatic moments(episode 7) some of the comedy can get in the way of of the more serious aspect of the show. In some cases, a comic moment happens out of no-where, which left me trying to still wrap my brain around the serious parts the action...

1.0 out of 5 stars bad
this show has copied off of other Gonzo shows and makes this the most unoriginal Gonzo show yet. The plotline is very similar to Hellsing and so are the characters. Rosette is like Alucard (though Alucard is 10x better) Integra=Sister Kate and Chrono=Victoria. Tise show also steals Full Metal Fumoffu?/Full Metal Panic's humor and comedy in the slapstick and perverted...

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun and Nuns.... Cool, December 17, 2004
This review is from: Chrono Crusade - Holy War (Vol. 2) (DVD)
I think that Chrono has the potential to be a very good action/comedy. Though the action is great and there are some very dramatic moments(episode 7) some of the comedy can get in the way of of the more serious aspect of the show. In some cases, a comic moment happens out of no-where, which left me trying to still wrap my brain around the serious parts the action.

The voice actors are in general very good. Chrono is played very well by both English and Japanese VAs. Rosette's English actor, Hilary Haag, has some trouble with the more emotional aspects of the character, but she does get better with each episode. All of the supporting cast does an excellent job, especially the hard Sister Kate and the silky voiced Father Remington.

All in all the only problems are the comedic interuptions and some of the voice acting. Other than that, the animation is excellent, the city-scapes of New York are awesome. The religious tones are neat as well, they add a depth to the story that goes beyond the action and the comedy. I look forward to more nuns, guns, and demons.

4.0 out of 5 stars Hot Cross Nuns, August 8, 2005
This review is from: Chrono Crusade - Holy War (Vol. 2) (DVD)
Chrono Crusade: Vol. 2: Holy War contains episodes five through eight of the series where a spunky nun and a demon battle the forces of evil in decadent 1920's Manhattan. In these episodes, the shy Azmaria Hendric decides she wants to be a demon hunter like Rosette. In the first episode on the DVD, Azmaria is trapped in the exorcist training grounds with a mind eater on the loose.

In episode six, a beautiful German Jewel Witch reluctantly assists Rosette and Chrono, as would-be demon smugglers unwittingly unleash demons on the citizens of New York. The witch is flabbergasted that The Sacred Order has a demon in it's ranks. The witch's power is cool; she uses birthstones to call forth a variety of powers. Here we see the Emerald of May and the Amethyst of February.

Next, the powerful, suave, evil, Aion comes to take Azmaria in his clutches. Rosette goes into shock as he taunts her about her lost younger brother Joshua. Aion grabs the helpless Rosette and holds her in a vile kiss.

Extras include Azmaria's Classes, original TV openings for all episodes, and Chrono Crusade Chronicles.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's funny, August 30, 2007
This review is from: Chrono Crusade - Holy War (Vol. 2) (DVD)
This is a really good show, I absolutely enjoy it! The characters are really loveable, it's hard not to like them. And seeing a nun shooting nuns and associating with a devil just blows you're mind. It's a really good idea for an anime to watch.

5.0 out of 5 stars CHRONO CRUSADE ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!, December 1, 2004
This review is from: Chrono Crusade - Holy War (Vol. 2) (DVD)
Chrono and Rosette are back, and there's a whole new legion of the damned out to get them! But this time they've got a little help in giving the devils hell, as Azmaria and a new demon hunter join the fight. Unfortunately, there are bigger, badder demons yet to come, and when the devil who kidnapped Rosette's brother resurfaces, it looks like the Magdalene Order may have met its match. Can our heroes cheat the devil out of his bargain?

Extras include: reversible cover, clean opening and closing animation, production sketches, Azmaria's Extras Classes video, background info for characters and setting, original on-air openings, Chrono Crusade Chronicle, and ADV previews.
