Book Description

November 10, 1996
In 1951 Chrysler produced its first ever V8 engine--the 'Hemi Head, ' which produced much more power in relation to its capacity than any of its competitors could manage. In 1955 the new 300 horsepower Chrysler C-300 was launched as "America's Most Powerful Car." Here is the full story of Chrysler's famous '300 letter series' cars.'

5.0 out of 5 stars America's Most Powerful Car, January 3, 2000
This review is from: Chrysler 300: America's Original Musclecar (Hardcover)
Speed, beauty, and poise on the road! That's what the Chrysler 300 meant to many people. Robert C. Ackerson has written a wonderful history of this beautiful brute. He has combed the files of many folks to create a comprehensive and accurate history of the 300. From its birth to its end,the author kept me involved and feeling like I was behind the wheel. Quite a feat with only pictures and print. This is perhaps the ultimate 300 book with a wealth of photos and detail. The only thing I would have added were some more contempory road tests. If you enjoy cars with class and power, add this book to your collection while it is still available. It deserves all 5 Stars!

This review is from: Chrysler 300: America's Original Musclecar (Hardcover)
This is a MUST HAVE for every Chrysler 300 afficionado, and a "nice to have" for any automobile enthusiast. The Chrysler 300 Series represents a fascinating segment of American automotive history. This book documents this unique series of automobiles from its inception, and includes detailed information on their history, development, features, options, and performance. Many pictures of each model are included, and quotes from contemporary reviewers provide an amazing historical perspective. Referred to as the "Beautiful Brutes" as well as the "Executive Hotrod," if you like cars--especially performance cars of the 50's & 60's--you will like this book. It's also recommended reading by the Chrysler 300 Club International.
