I myself have had the pleasure of listening to Chuck Girard since I became a christian in 1972, when chuck was in a band called "LOVESONG". At that time i needed to hear something that would definately fit the HEART of the new me, and a fellow christian introduced me to the soul touching sound of chuck girard. as i listened to him and his band i felt as if GOD himself was giving me a gift that would be with me for always, and that gift was music like you will never experience until you listen with your heart. chuck girards music has always given me a boost spiritualy that is, when i needed it. since then i have acumulated every record that he has made..and he is still going strong..give chuck girard a try. you wont be disappointed. i promise.

I have had this CD for years, and it still sounds fresh today.Back in 1975 contemperary Christain music was not as we know it today. This was one of the first to pioneer the genre. The last three tracks on this CD are so great. Lay your burdens down is so peacful. Sometimes Alleluia was the big single from it. There would not be contemperary Christain music today if it weren't for folks like Girard and Keith Green. I have several other albums by Girarad and wish they to would be released on CD as well. If you want peacful soul stirring music then this is your choice. Not all songs are slow moving . Rock& roll preacher kicks this one off well but ends with Sometimes Alleluia to bring you back to earth .May God bless you.

I had the pleasure of ministering with Chuck Girard on the streets of the lower eastside in New York City during a "Jesus Loves You New York Crusade". He was among a handful of Christians from all over the country who came at their own expense to minister. His gentle personality comes forth in the soft intimate worship songs of this CD. You get the feeling you are standing before the very throne of God. Almost ten years later, I still use this CD to help me come into the presence of God during my private time with God and I still sing some of the songs when I lead praise and worhsip.
I believe God is restoring worship to the church and Chuck Girard is at the forefront.

When I first heard him sing, I started to cry because his songs are prayers to God. I thank the Good Lord for giving us this wonderful and annointed Christian.

I saw this man perform "It's the name above all names" once, on TBN I think. I was in absolute awe.
Years later today, the song came back to me and I googled it. which led me to Amazon.com and Chuck Girard.
I am currently in a mentorship program and my mentor is graduating Dec. 8 from a leadership institute.
And this is the song God led me to give to her.
I bought and played the songs and recognized why. This man is a prophetic psalmist. He is so declarative. I am totally blown into God's presence by this. Impressive.

Chuck Girard (self-titled)
Word 1975 / Ocean Records CD (yr.?)

Chuck was a member of the seminal `Jesus Rock' group Love Song. This was his first solo effort. The 5 ½ Minute "Sometimes Alleluia" alone makes this a worthy purchase. The rest of the songs here are good to very good and the whole album does grow on you with repeated plays. It's no masterpiece but it is well worth owning, especially if you were part of the 70's Jesus Movement (or if you are interested in that period and its music).

It has been 33 years since Chuck made this LP/ CD and it still ministers today with his mediative soft simple way. His new one "Evening Shadows," keeps in that tradition. I seen him perform and minister around the early 80s on his visit to ny/pa/de east coast areas, as a solo artist after his Love Song 70s band. His gentleness and simplicity were key in his concerts. Continue onward pilgrim Chuck, alleluia!

I grew up listening to Chuck Girard and "Lay Your Burdens Down" got me through some very hard teenage times. Now some 35 years later it still touches my heart. Father used Chuck to minister to many through this very inspiration song.
