I hate to disagree, but Chuck does NOT need danny or cory to back his voice up. I've been a fan back to the 3 Dog Night Days, and Chuck's voice was ALWAYS the one that stood out . The guys he has now do a great job of backing him.

Ordinarily, I'm not really a live album fan, because the music and voices on studio recordings are clearer with no distractions from the songs. This CD is exceptional - it's absolutely a great listen and now I have to buy a backup in case something happens to this one!! Keep up the great work, Chuck!!!!!!!

I just recently saw Three Dog Night, minus Chuck Negron. I have to admit his live versions of thier songs are so much better than the originals. His band is tight and he gives a great vocal performance. It does the heart good to know that a performer from my generation can still put down a great sound. If you enjoyed TDN in the past, this CD is well worth adding to your collection.

I saw Chuck about 4 years ago, in PA.
Incredible showman, incredible vocal range. Intonation, too.
This is the one to buy, as well as "Am I Still In Your Heart".

I had heard Chuck was back in business after many years of heroin addiction that ripped apart Three Dog Night. However, I expected him to be like other "has-beens" making lame attempts at their "glory-days." True, these are songs from Chuck's height of fame with Three Dog Night. But incredibly his voice is even better than before and his renditions are absolutely gripping. His voice hits ranges unheard of among men his age and rare among the young as up-to-date guitar riffs wail, keyboard jams swell and harmonies are tight!. Way to go Chuck! Eat your hearts out Cory and Danny; shame on you for ostracizing Chuck!

I've heard Three Dog Night without Chuck and now Three Dog Night without Cory and Danny and believe me, this is MUCH better! This live concert recording makes me hope that Chuck Negron comes to a concert venue near me so I can hear it live myself. This recording is "nostalgia" for the old Three Dog Night Fans but sounds just fresh enough for (hopefully) some new listeners. For a true live recording the sound is quite good, the instrumentation is great and oh that voice of Chuck's.....makes me want to hear more!

Chuck Negron has put out what I consider the BEST live cd I have ever heard! This two disc cd is packed with original Three Dog Night hits that Chuck performs with remarkable talent. His superior voice claims the prize to deliver from rock tempo, straight into a love ballad. I highly recommend this cd as one of the best! Chuck is the master and the Voice of the music industry! Awesome!!

My recollection is that Chuck's 'live' voice had more of a rock edge and greater versatility than his 3DN 'album' voice. And, IMO, that's what makes this CD work so well. This is exactly what I wanted to hear!
I don't think anyone needs to worry about this being a LIVE CD. It's full of classic 3DN songs, performed by a terrific singer and a very polished band (who are quite faithful to the spectacular original arrangements of Greenspoon, Allsup, Schermetzler and Sneed; the latter appears on this CD too!)

I just opened this CD today, and it's probably the first time I've listened to Chuck sing live or otherwise in over 20 years. This guy is absolutely incredible. Great band! Great tunes! Great voice!

First of all, both the recording quality as well as performance on this one are superb. That said, all I can think of--and I know this horse has been whipped to death--is just how awesome an offering of this caliber featuring Danny, Cory AND Chuck would be today! That's not the reason I stopped at a mere four stars: the second disc terminates the live performance in front of an enthusiastic audience about halfway through the CD, the remainder of which is odds and ends which smack to me of being "filler" material...the meat of this set could've easily fit on one CD. As much as I love the classic "Easy to be Hard", three versions on one set are a bit much. I suppose I should give the "other" offering ( 3DN with Danny and Cory and an orchestra ) a try, but somehow that seems all the more frustrating: missing that "sound" by the absence of a mere one versus two (!) Guess if I couldn't have the gold medal, a bronze would be a lot easier to live with than the silver! These three guys need to learn a lesson from the other veterans from the seventies: if Randy Bachman and Burton Cummings could bury their old strife to allow The Guess Who to have triumphantly returned in 2000, so could Three Dog Night!

this is a great cd but don't pay more than 25.00 because that's how much it is on chucks web site.I hate scalpers and this way the artist gets the money.
