This has been a hilarioius addition to our backyard! The squirrels quickly learn to open the door for food and my children and I laugh every time we see them do it. They look like they are human sitting there eating, and opening and closing the box each time they want a piece of food. You will definitely have fun with this one!

When we were looking for another feeder without the jar we saw some negative feedback in this site but we decided to order anyway. We received it today after less than a week and it was delivered right to our door!!
We have had feeders in the past as we live in the country.
We are very pleased with this feeder and know we will get many enjoyable hours of watching the squirrels.
As for some of the other comments--- you cannot leave feed in a feeder for long periods of time as it does mildew. You do have to clean them out with any brand. We cannot keep ours filled fast enough, though, so we don't have that problem!!
We would recommend this feeder to anyone.

Our feeder fell apart in less than a year--my husband glued it back together--but then the top hinge gave way and the top fell off.
We had had a similar feeder before that lasted for years!

The squirrels found the feeder immediately and I loved watching them coming and going, but the lid came off the hinge on the second day which I glued back on but by the second week the squirrels had almost pulled the whole thing apart. It is supposed to be guaranteed but the construction is poor and I will buy a different brand next time.

I loved that this feeder came with a nice-sized bag of pumpkin seeds, which the squirrels love, and are more nutritious (I think) than the peanuts I've been feeding them. I will definitely be ordering more of the seeds. The feeder itself is nicely made and the squirrels quickly figured out how to lift the lid--which is a nice feature that keeps the food dry during the rain. Not sure how long it will last--I have had it for about 6 weeks--but it's been outside that entire time and is holding up well. I use it as a free-standing feeder on a storage box on my terrace so not sure how easy this is to hang. The best feature is the plastic window that can slide in two ways, to either allow the seeds to spill out onto the ledge of the feeder, or to keep the seeds completely inside.

After having two bird feeders in our yard and getting quite a few visits from our local squirrels we decided to invest in this product. It took a few for them to approach the new feeder with their own pumpkin seeds which were provided, but soon they were brave enough and ate them very quickly.
Sadly a storm hit us later that day and our new feeder got hit with rain and the seeds were on the ground soaked but still were ate up. We bought more food from our local pet smart store, and right away as soon as I filled it they were in there opening the lid and the plastic cover grabbing all they could. So if you want a cute little feeder for your furry little friends, this is the one/

This feeder fell apart after one night, I had to put screws in it to put it back together, the staples they used came apart. Waste of money for me.

I have not had much luck w/ feeder. In rainy season, when the food comes out it gets wet and mildews.
