Son Loves, me not so much,

This review is from: Chuggington: Wilson and the Ice Cream Fair (Paperback)
My son loves this book, but I find the story a little boring. I know that it is a children's book and not meant to entertain me, but as the person who has had to read it about 50 times in 2 days, I have to say I found the story boring, and it didn't involve a lot of the characters that my son loves. However, since I have read it about 50 times in 2 days, you can tell that my son loves it, because Wilson is one of his favorite characters.

By far, my son's favorite book right now. He has seen this specific episode and asks for this book by name. It's a good length and a bit more basic then the other Chugger books.

The book is basically a short overview of one of the episodes of Chuggington. My kid's a fan so he liked the book ;D And I'm a big fan of reading so I'm glad to be able to read these before bedtime to the kiddo - they're a big hit!

Not a good first-reader,

My middle son is 5 and is learning to read. I picked this up at the library as a first reader to work with him on sight words and sounding out letters.
This is definitely more advanced than a 'first reader.' It's difficult for pre-K and Kindergarten-aged children to pick out letters when the font makes it difficult for them to pick out certain letters (e.g., 'a' and 't' are not familiar). For teaching reading, I'd much rather spend my money on the Bob Books. |
