Chu¢¾lip!,

Chulip is a very interesting game. It's a completely different concept than anything else I've EVER played before, but in a good way. You play as a boy trying to win the girl of his dreams. Earning the trust of the locals means kissing them, and that's a lot of the game.
Positives of the game include that the overall feel of the game is a nice one, and the graphics, though not utterly amazing and realistic, fit the game to a T. The characters are all a little on the weird side, but that's one of the reasons that the game is funny. Earning some of the kisses require you to do odd things, like play on the (very dangerous, as the sign says) playground equipment in the park, riding to all of the train stations, and running out of the bath-house without your clothes on. A definite con, if you ask me, is that when you're out past curfew (in the town only) and get caught, you are shot and it's game over. However, some of the kisses require you to go out at night, so it adds a little more challenge to the game. Also, because the main character is so poor, it's a little hard to maintain and earn money in the game. Your main source of income is digging in trashcans, where you can find many things from sweet potatoes to poo (which has value in Chulip, oddly enough). All in all, it's a great game, and I would easily recommend it. Though it's not too bad, you might want to pay attention to the fact that it's "T" for "Teen"

The concept of Chulip is not to beat your enemies up to a pulp, but to simply kiss them. Yes, kiss them. That is what I love the most about this game: It's very innocent and yet also probably one of the most challenging games I've ever played. This game proves that it's not easy to kiss someone. This game will definitely have you addicted. I bought this on a whim because it was so cheap and I've never regretted it ever since.

I really love this game. It is by far the weirdest game I have ever played (and I have played a lot of games!). I mean it, every time I describe this game to someone, they look at me with one eyebrow raised and say "no, you're just kidding." They can never believe that this game is just THAT weird.**Sorta SPOILER ALERT!!** ("Sorta" because these are things you find out very very soon after starting the game) Okay, so you go around kissing everyone. And I mean *everyone!!* This includes a lion statue, a dinosaur, and a lady with an onion for a head. In order to complete the game, you truly need to kiss everyone. You go around streaking, smoke cigarettes (this kid is 13), and disobey the town's curfew. Oh, and if you get caught after curfew by the cop, he shoots you. And I don't mean like a warning shot because he is surprised, he aims at you until you die. The playground tries to kill you, too. Also, at night, be careful of the demon doctor. He has a massive needle with him and goes around trying to take all of your blood. Basically, everything in this game is out to get you (everything!!). **END OF SPOILERS** This game is wonderful. It is the most unique, interesting, and creative game ever. The sound effects are infectious, and they're so amusing and strange. They fit perfectly. The game teaches you very clearly how to play the game, but the "puzzles" are quite complex and difficult to figure out. I would've lowered this game's score for this (it is insane how obscure the puzzles are, and it's just a guessing game) if the instruction booklet didn't come with every single answer in it. I have used it quite a lot, and it has everything. This includes every map and secret in the entire game. I assume they knew how complicated this game was, and that they would drive a lot of people to insanity if they did not provide a cheat sheet. The only reason I took one star off of this score is because there is only one thing to do. It takes a very long time to complete, but it gets a tad repetitive after a while. All in all, this game is a true gem and I recommend it highly to true video game fans. If you like some games, but are picky, then I strongly suggest you look at something less unusual.

Chulip, from its pictures alone, is obviously a game with bad graphics. However, I'm not one to judge a game on its graphics alone. I liked the idea of a 'kissing RPG', and wanted to try it out!Voices: My god, what in the hell are they saying? They didn't bother re-dubbing voices. They repeat the same lines over and over, which won't make sense to you at all, while text appears on the bottom of the screen. This was a small annoyance that I quickly got used to. What I loved was the challenge of gaining all those kisses. For everyone's information: ALL available kisses in the game are listed in the manual that come WITH the game, and even explains how to gain them. There's no need to buy or look up a guide. I felt a sense of triumph when I gained all kisses! It wasn't easy, and I did have a LOT of fun. This game is cheap used, and I highly recommended it for someone looking for an inexpensive challenge.

Ever since I heard about this game so many years ago, I had been watching and waiting for the game to be released in the US until one month ago. It was worth the wait! Honestly, I've never played a PS2 game something very weird and yet very challenging such as this! The game features very unique characters that I've never have seen before! On the side note that this game features part of Japanese culture(if not all) and even the character's spoken language and everything else is in Japanese.(duh!) I can see now that why this game was so popular in Japan when it was released many years ago! Anyway, if you wanna know and experience what Japanese culture is like, this game is for you! But, no game is perfect and this one is no exception. Here are my own opinions from my own experience:
The good: 1)The game is featuring very unique characters that I've never seen before until now. 2)A very good example of what Japanese culture is like. 3)The unique goal of the game: Kiss almost everyone you meet! The bad: 1)The gameplay could be very hard to most people who have no idea what in the world(!?) is going on in the game. 2)Some of the scenes in the game could offend most people, including myself! I really don't wanna talk about it so you must play this game to see for yourselves. Trust me on this. Really! 3)The instructional manual of the game features mini guide but it is NOT 100% accurate! I wonder whether this is typo or intentional(!?) error.

This game had the most interesting concept I have ever seen. You must make a name for yourself and win the heart of the girl by kissing practically everyone in the town. The concept is new and different, but the rest of the game does not match.
The dialogue is awful. One particular one that comes to mind was an argument between two parents and the father argues that his daughter likes cats while the mother is screaming at him for being worthless. This may just be poor translation, but the poor dialogue was distracting.
