As far as keeping my glasses on my head, they work great! That being said, they were a *little* snug and I felt they could be a little bit longer, but they definitely served their purpose and were not uncomfortable at all. I was just aware that I was wearing it the entire time (8 day kayaking adventure). They do float though! So if they ever do fall off, you can find them :)Warning: The slits to insert your glasses are relatively small, so if you have wide glasses you might want to look elsewhere. I was able to squeeze those cheap fake Ray-Ban glasses with the colored plastic sides (...the ones they give out at frat parties) with a little bit of effort though.

Too short if you switch glasses or like to hang them around your neck,

I have worn Neoprene Retainers for many years however recently switched to classic cloth Chums, and like them a lot better. Below some of the reasons:
I like: 1. Retainer is made out of neoprene and provide a good grip on your wide frames (such as sunglasses). 2. Because they are made of neoprene they and are soft they fell comfortable around your head. 3. Neoprene is stretchy and adjust to a relatively wide variety of thicker frames. 4. Neoprine may slow down sinking of your glasses (depends on the weight of the glasses) I don't like: 1. The retainer is very short as it designed to fit snugly around the head. With age I found I need to switch glasses often for example take off sunglasses to put on reading glasses. With a short retainer this is difficult to do, you need to remove the retainer etc. Chums cloth retainer provides a long leash which is easy to adjust by moving the ball mechanism in the back. 2. I like to hang my glasses around my neck when I don't need them (sunglasses when coming into a room, reading glasses when not reading) and a short retainer puts them uncomfortably close to your neck. Classic Chums with its long retainer solves this problem. 3. Several of my neoprene retainer unraveled at end the retainer. I cut those parts off but retainer became too short. 4. Neoprene retainers did not hold thin framed glasses well. Bottom line: Depending on how you use your glasses this may or may not be the best retainer for your use. If you like to hang your glasses around your neck or need to switch to different glasses often check out Chums Original Cotton Standard End Eyewear Retainer Ali Julia Review

I bought this so that I could take my reading glasses on and off. Once I put it on the glasses it is SO short that I can hardly take it on and off. I found a Croakie brand one at Wal*Mart that was half the price and twice as long.
